Five western nations recognize Palestine, more to come

As of September 2025, the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 151 of the 193 member states of the United Nations (UN), or just over 78% of all UN members. It has been a non-member observer state of the UN General Assembly since November 2012. This limited status is largely due to the fact that the United States, a permanent member of the UN Security Council with veto power, has consistently used its veto or threatened to do so to block Palestine's full UN membership.

Countries that have recently recognized Palestine:
  • United Kingdom: Announced formal recognition in September 2025.
  • Canada: Announced formal recognition in September 2025.
  • Australia: Announced formal recognition in September 2025.
  • Portugal: Announced formal recognition in September 2025.
  • Armenia: Recognized Palestine in June 2024.
  • Slovenia: Recognized Palestine in June 2024.
  • Ireland: Recognized Palestine in May 2024.
  • Norway: Recognized Palestine in May 2024.
  • Spain: Recognized Palestine in May 2024.
  • Mexico: Recognized Palestine in February 2025.
  • Caribbean nations: The Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago recognized Palestine in 2024.
Countries with pending recognition in 2025:
  • France: Expected to formally announce recognition in September 2025, alongside a United Nations conference.
  • Belgium, Luxembourg, and Malta: Expected to announce their recognition at the UN General Assembly in September 2025.

If a Palestinian state is recognized what are it's borders?

If there are no borders for a Palestinian state to defend then that state exists only in someone's imagination.

Indeed Article 1 of the Montevideo Convention of 1933 declares that an entity must answer 4 requirements before it can be considered to be a state:
The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.

The Palestinians can only claim A and D at most. They don't have a defined territory and they don't have a single body governing these territories (government).

It's meaningless symbolic nonsense meant to appease anti-Israelis, far-leftist wackos, radical Islamists and antisemites within the borders of the recognizing countries for domestic purposes of these politicians.

Nonsense.

Bibi has promised zero borders and a marked increase in the ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank BECAUSE of nations recognizing a Palestinian state.

These would be the same ‘free’ nations who took freedom away from the Palestinians 77 years ago in the first place.

Oh no, you're very wrong

So you're happy to be like the Germans.
First you chose to be ignorant, now you choose to fake illiteracy as if it wasn't clear from my comment that the Hamas rule in Gaza is comparable to the Nazi rule over Germany and how it caused German children to suffer.
