But, dis- does very broadly imply disfunction, or distance from perceived norms, which is why disgendered as a term is so disappointing and disheartening.

The lack of use of a particular term does not automatically equate to disapproval. I know what all of the terms mean, I don't use all of them, but I don't necessarily disagree with any of them.
That said, the Democratic party did not run on a terribly "woke" platform this time around. Kamala talked more about owning a gun then she did about trans people (who a point was made not to mention at all). Right-wing media did a good job of painting Kamala as some "socialist woke lefty DEI hire" by simply saying she was, but the platform she ran on was far from it (for better or for worse, depending on who you ask).
