Your Senate over the years ceded unprecedented power to the President.
Imagine with how Trump has learned, manipulated the key Depts of Govt with sycophants, mainly temp workers, & gamed the system, what a 2nd term would mean?

Will Biden inherit an R Senate that were suddenly deficit hawks?

Will if a D Senate, nuke the filibuster?

Will Biden be able to reach some consensus?

The larger problems are the powers that Congress gave to the Office of the President which will at the most receive lip service from Congress.

And those faults will be used again.

An Imperial Presidency is what you have and where the US is headed.
 
Elements of a battalion of the 101st Airborne Division were ordered to Washington from NC after Trump ordered SecDef Mark Yesper to call in some elite units. However, a 101st AD colonel went live on local television saying the troops deployed to Washington were saying to their officers, "We don't belong here."

This was June 1st and it is a seminal date in USA civil military relations because it was when the dictator wannabe Trump found out the active duty armed forces do not support him in this or in anything he would attempt against the Constitution and the people of the United States. Indeed when Esper the West Point grad was advised of the completely negative attitude of the deployed troops up and down the ranks he immediately ordered the 101st out of the nation's capital and back to Ft. Bragg. What a terrible name for a US military base btw.

Trump tried to invoke the Insurrection Act nationally which Esper advised Trump does not apply in the circumstance of the moment or time, supported by Gen. Milley the chairman of the Joint Chiefs who advise the potus on policy.

Most grotesque of all, as one can have no doubt, Trump had intended to have the active duty armed forces fire on unarmed peaceful protesters at Lafayette Square immediately across the street from the White House. Indeed, Pentagon told Trump what he could do with that idea.

What we know now is that the vast majority of active duty armed forces are opposed to Trump in his tyrannical designs and purposes against the people of the United States and our Constitution. And that it is the armed forces in Washington DC and across the continental United States that matter decisively in this.

SAY, the last time democrats stormed the white house, you know, the first time democrats waged a civil war against America, wasn't live fire used on them? I guess that's what you want congress to investigate, why live fire wasn't used of the mostly peaceful democrat terrorists who were assaulting the white house?

As I recall, the mostly peaceful terrorists were attempting to burn down St. John's, and had earlier stormed the white house. Mostly peaceful democrats tried that against Abraham Lincoln, the first time democrats waged civil war on America, but Lincoln had them all shot dead.


Trump apparently wanted to use non-lethal methods on the mostly peaceful democrat terrorists. I think Lincoln had the better approach.

Except that's bull****. The fire was in the parish chapter house, and was hours prior to Trump deciding to have the way cleared for his stupid photo op.

Yep. It's certainly impossible for units based in Kentucky to be training at Fort Bragg in NC. Never happened. Not once in history.
