ruh roh... I declined the RSV vaccine. Although variants of the vaccine have been around some time now.

But the 2 in question, Arexvy and Abrysvo vaccines approved in 2023, are now linked to some pretty nasty side effects.

Proceed with caution

-------------------------

"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ordered two respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine manufacturers to include a potentially paralytic side effect warning related to nerve damage on product labels.

The manufacturers, GSK and Pfizer, manufacturing Arexvy and Abrysvo vaccines respectively, must now include a warning stating a risk of Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) following vaccination, according to a Jan. 7 statement from the agency."

7 to 9 cases per million doses.

But by all means panic.

They should have absolutely no side effects... like every other medication.
The RSV fatality rate runs from 16,000 to 70,000 per million depending on age.

But he'll type 'pee his pants' posts over a 7 - 9 per million vaccine side effect.

The POSes (epochtimes and zerohedge) in the OP linked article seem bigger threats than the tiny risk announced, compared to the benefits of the two
vaccines.

The efficacy of the RSV vaccine is about 78%. So it would save between 12,000 to 50,000 lives per million vaccinations.

With a side effect of only 7 - 9 per million doses.

I'd rather my kids get RSV!

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common infection in children and senior adults, can also infect nerve cells and trigger inflammation leading to nerve damage, according to a new Tulane University study.[...

The findings underscore the potential long-term impacts of the disease, as well as the importance of preventative measures such as the two RSV vaccines approved by the FDA in 2023....

The nerve hyperreactivity could explain why children who get RSV are later more likely to have asthmatic symptoms, Piedimonte said.

The study also found that RSV could enter the spinal cord via peripheral nerves despite not having the ability to enter the spinal neurons directly. More research is needed to explore that mechanism, but Piedimonte theorizes that by using the peripheral nerves to enter the spinal cord, RSV can bypass the blood-brain barrier, enter the central nervous system and infect the brain.

If confirmed, it could signal a connection between RSV and other neurological or developmental disorders, Piedimonte said.

Oop.

Oh no warnings!!!! Epoch Times needs warnings

Then what is the point of the warning on the label?
The point is to allow the physician and the patient to have a reasoned conversation regarding risks. Virtually all medications have risks. People should be allowed to consider those risks. This is a service of the FDA. You're welcome.

The anti-vaxxer now hates RSV.
First Covid, now RSV. Next polio, then measles, diphtheria.

I think this poster is RFK.

Have you sued your childhood doctor for giving you polio vaccine?

I'm glad to learn this info. I haven't ever had this vaccine yet, but I've wondered if I should. Now, I will add this info to my wonderings.

The math couldn't be simpler...

Side effect:
7 to 9 per million

Fatal RSV infection:
16,000 to 70,000 per million

I had it. I had a long Covid cough from my third bout with the virus, after coming home from Europe in early August. My lungs aren't what they used to be as a result or didn't feel as strong at that time. At my age and with what I already mentioned, the benefits outweigh the risks, having more problems with RSV on top of long Covid. I had the RSV vaccine this past fall. I feel fine now, and my long Covid cough also cleared up too. I guess eventually they do. I had the latest Covid vaccination too when I got the flu vaccine in October, a week before the RSV and last Shingrix vaccine. I had shingles a few years back, um, never again do I want to get that sucker. Horrible.

Ooh. Yikes. Oh that's bad. I am so sorry. What a relief that you're better now. I have heard shingles is just horrible. :(

We had covid before we knew much about what covid was. Our doctor diagnosed us without a test because CA didn't have tests yet. Or I guess nobody did? It was in February 2020. She refused to hospitalize us because by the time we came in to see her, neither of us had a fever anymore, and she claimed that they were only hospitalizing people they suspected of having covid if they had a fever. (Does anybody remember that in the beginning?)

My husband thought he was having a stroke one day in early March. He couldn't feel his left leg. It was numb. I begged him to go back to the doc b/c he's not the type to go to the doctor unless he's half-dying. And we had already been sick for so long. I remember exactly when we got sick...two days before Valentine's Day, b/c I was trying to make out cards for my kids to take to school and I could not physically lift my hand to write the cards...I had to go lie down...I felt so bad. And by March we were still coughing until we couldn't catch our breath (scary). Our kids were just getting over their cough.

So my husband went back to the doctor and she said his numbness was because of covid and he was like..."It's what?" It was a no way moment for us both. But much later people came out with that symptom of long covid, months of numbness in one area.

My husband was able to feel his leg again about eight months later.

It took me about six weeks to get over my cough. It took my husband about four weeks to get over his. We were only 50 at the time....I guess that in-betweener time of covid being dangerous?

Covid can do a number on a person.

Sorry VySky but epoch times = fake news. 🤷‍♂️

I did get the two dose Shingrix a few years ago. I've had family members who have had a terrible time with shingles. I'm sorry you had to go through that and can sure understand why you'd never want to get it again!

@VySky posting about something Epoch Times said guarantees an idiotic lie that fails idiotically.

🤷
