FBI looking into James Comey’s off-the-books ‘honeypot’ operation targeting 2016 Trump campaign

It's very telling you won't answer the question because if that did happen it would definitely be illegal.

It's rich for Biden supporters to complain about weaponization of the justice system after what Biden and Democrats did to Trump.

They haven't started the investigation. Why would you expect evidence at this point?
Biden did NOTHING to Trump. That is not the way the DoJ has worked in this country for more than 50 years. Trump was indicted because he engaged in numerous crimes.

After righteous investigations, the DoJ, which did not work for Biden, had no choice to to prosecute the crimes. Six grand juries heard the evidence and based on the standard that more likely than not he did the crimes, each of the grand juries said "indict the bastard", so they did.

If Biden had not selected such a milquetoast AG that was trying NOT to go after Trump until he really had no choice, Trump would have been indicted in 2022, and the trials conducted well before the election. In which case, Trump would be wearing an ankle bracelet and either Nikki Haley or another Democrat would be in the oval office today/

If it's true that FBI Director Comey ran an off the books honeypot operation against the Trump campaign that would be illegal right?

I'm not positive on that myself.

"The Honeypot" is about as basic an undercover technique as you could ask for. It's not exactly subtle, but then neither is Trump. Illegal? Not sure.

The FBI Director is a powerful role, and "off the books" doesn't necessarily mean illegal. Just means they know a felon when they see one.

It is a shame if they overstepped.

But you'll need to show your work.

Are you familiar with Jack Smith?

Righteous? Not at all. Corrupt weaponization. Biden told Garland what to do.

More excuses about why the Democrats lawfare didn't work just like with Mueller. What it really means is the bullshit the Democrats cooked up didn't work.

FBI leadership is starting an investigation into the origins of the agency’s plan a decade ago to infiltrate the campaign of presidential candidate Donald Trump using two female undercover “honeypot” agents.

The off-the-books investigation, launched in 2015 by FBI Director James B. Comey, was revealed by an agency whistleblower in a protected disclosure to the House Judiciary Committee last year and first reported exclusively by The Washington Times in October. In the intelligence community, a honeypot commonly refers to an undercover operative, usually a woman, who feigns sexual or romantic interest to obtain information from a target.

The whistleblower said two female FBI undercover employees infiltrated Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign at high levels and were directed to act as “honeypots” while traveling with Mr. Trump and his campaign staff. The Times has learned that the bureau, now led by Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, is looking for those once-undercover employees under Mr. Comey’s direction.

Kash didn't take long to start digging into Russiagate. I'm ready for them to expose it all.
Kash and Bongino have never met a conspiracy theory they didn't like so now they are going to have us spending millions and millions of taxpayer dollars pursuing their crackpot theories. Yea MAGA!

A honeypot operation wouldn't be illegal by itself, but an off the books operation that didn't have the proper authorization would definitely be illegal.

The long arm of trump retribution.....

It's not enough that Comey effectively scuttled Clinton's chances with his late-October "surprise" investigation that turned up nothing.....

LOL....the Republican House committee report isn't exactly credible evidence, but, hey, why not waste taxpayers' monies on this? It's not as if the musk-trump-vance triumvirate is interested in governing.....
Comey must have done something to displease Trump's handler.

I literally asked you if what the article talks about happened wouldn't it be illegal. How do you not understand that
And I've told you that I don't get sidelined into commenting on hypotheticals.

That you don't like this response is evident. Tough luck.
Huh? It's the subject of this thread you are posting in lol
No, it's not fact. It's speculation. IF it ever looks credible - that means reliable sources (and the Republican House isn't one of those) - copy and paste excerpts.

Don't forget the BLM riots of 2020 if you are THIS excited about something that happened years ago. JAYSUS, something tells me we need a deflection from rising inflation.
And from trump's public embrace of putin and Russia in its illegitimate and illegal war against Ukraine.

Do you know what thread you are in? It's about a possible investigation into Comey. Who said anything was a fact? The investigation hasn't even started yet.

Based on a whisper in a Republican House "report".

AGAIN: this MAGA "report" isn't credible. But that doesn't stop our DOJ from weaponizing it against an American who has displeased the lord god trump.

You are acting like anyone claimed this is a fact or it definitely happened. That's what the investigation is for. It sounds like you are worried about Russiagate being exposed for what it really was.

If Comey did nothing wrong, he has nothing to worry about right?

If it's true that FBI Director Comey ran an off the books honeypot operation against the Trump campaign that would be illegal right?
He didn't.
But kash is the type to forge something.

For arguments sake. If there is evidence it happened that would be illegal right?
Wait, do you have evidence of this?

A honeypot operation wouldn't be illegal by itself, but an off the books operation that didn't have the proper authorization would definitely be illegal.

Why wouldn't the FBI director have that authority?

Nevermind, what's the evidence?

The investigation hasn't even started yet lol

So there's no evidence?

Wow , you don't have squat.

Do you have the right thread? This thread is about a possible investigation into Comey that hasn't even started yet. Why would you expect evidence at this point?

This thread keeps pointing out that there is no evidence to support opening an investigation into Comey and honeypots.

A waste of taxpayers' monies by trump and his political party.

A weaponizing of the DOJ by trump and his political party.

Because it would mean an investigation is warranted. Keep me posted when they make something up, or better yet, let me know when everyone forgets that they claimed it.

You don't seem to understand how the justice system works. You use an investigation to gather evidence.
