Ok then little fella, why was there a push for vaccine mandates? Pilots, doctors and nurses fired. Then it was struck down in court.

I can't wait for this creep to face the music

The fat lady is warming up.

-------------------------------

White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci acknowledged during an appearance on Fox News that while vaccines may protect from symptoms of the virus, they “don’t protect overly well” when it comes to transmission of COVID.

Fauci made the comments on ‘Your World’ while talking to host Neil Cavuto.

Cavuto asked Fauci to respond to Americans who are unsure about taking another round of the vaccine.

“And they’re beginning to wonder about the regimen for treating it, whether you get two vaccination shots, whether you get a booster, another booster. They just don’t know. What do you tell them?” he asked.

One of the things that’s clear from the data is that, even though vaccines, because of the high degree of transmissibility of this virus, don’t protect overly well, as it were, against infection, they protect quite well against severe disease leading to hospitalization and death,” Fauci responded.

It’s important to remember that we’re not far removed from a time when authorities insisted that vaccines were “100 per cent safe and effective” and anyone who challenged that narrative was demonized as an anti-vaxxer.

Face what music?

Please make sense.

Vaccines save lives.

My incomplete understanding of vaccines is that they have never been intended to prevent infection directly.

They make the body more prepared to fight the infection off.

But that is not why mandates and passports were pushed. People wanted others vaccinated to stop the spread in public. Same with mask. Nether worked, so now all the concern was about saving lives?

I have to raise the BS flag

Why would you think vaccines prevent people from passing on a contagious illness, @VySky?

Right, it's too damn stupid. You know perfectly well vaccines just prime the immune system such that you get lighter symptoms. You still have the virus and a virus you have can be transmitted. Duh. Everyone knows that.

So why are you pretending that you think vaccines actually provide a magic shield that stop viruses from getting in or out? Do you really hate Fauci that much? Or are you required to pretend you hate him? Because this thread is truly baffling (and yet again the link is to a site that might as well be called "butthole dot com").

Vaccines save lives. They also did reduce transmission.

It's all related. Shorter infection means less exposure to others. Masks mean less snot up in the air.

You're hating the good because it ain't perfect, and to what end?

Are you saying we didn't effectively eradicate smallpox and polio using vaccines?

Doesn’t matter. Some on the right are just as obsessed about bashing Fauci as they are about defending Trump. Fauci is a scientist. He deals with likelihoods, with new evidence as it comes up. I just found out that I have COVID from a test this am. Should I or my wife (who tested negative) go to the drug store to pick up the Rx the doc phoned in, should I go play with the neighbors’ kids without a mask? Should I stay quarantined for the ten days thedoc said since I am symptomatic? Should we have not gotten the vaccines?

The attacks on Fauci are about classic US anti-intellectualism. Fauci - A man with along record of service - has to be as sure as himself as Trump is. Any waffling on any issue, any “on the other hand” is proof that he is a fraud. Look at his statement. He said that they don’t work very well regarding transmission of disease, they work very well in preventing hospitalization and death.

OP must be bored today to revert back to attention for Fauci.

When I want to know about vaccines, the first people I ask are election interference professionals pretending to be Republicans.

Fauciphobia

Wrong

Saving lives is the number one reason for vaccines.
Not in the work place it wasn't. Mandates and passports were not for that purpose. But you know that.

I never heard anyone say the vaccine was "100 per cent safe and effective", so I decided to check. First stop, the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/effectiveness/work.html

COVID-19 vaccines are effective at preventing severe disease, hospitalization, and death. However, since vaccines are not 100% effective at preventing infection, some people who are up to date with the recommended vaccines will still get COVID-19. This is called a breakthrough infection. When people who are vaccinated develop symptoms of COVID-19, they tend to experience less severe symptoms than people who are unvaccinated.

Strike one.

Yale maybe? https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/covid-19-vaccine-comparison

Nope, turns out they say there are mild risks and it is not 100 % effective.

Science? https://www.science.org/content/art...e-shows-90-efficacy-could-boost-worlds-supply

Against eight viral variants of interest and concern, its efficacy was 93.2%. And the vaccine appeared safe and well-tolerated.

So it turns out your source is lying to you. I know, just because Summit.news is batshit crazy, you still want to believe...

Question: why the hostility towards Fauci from some on the right? Is it because he differed with Trump on some issues. Fauci - who is from my old neighborhood in Brooklyn - so I am biased. (His dad was our druggist down the street from my home.)

Any way, he is a scientist charged with suggesting ways to combat medical problems. As such, as I posted before, he will change his opinions and advice with new emerging evidence. He revised his advice on dealing with AIDS when challenged with evidence by the gay community. The stack on him seem unusually hostile, suggesting some sort of evil intent on his part. What gives?

Do you have a link to anyone in authority claiming vaccines are 100% effective? Or is this just a lie to make the above story seem like a "gotcha" moment?

Look at you, posting his defense, how kind!

"vaccines, because of the high degree of transmissibility of this virus, don’t protect overly well, as it were, against infection, they protect quite well against severe disease leading to hospitalization and death,” Fauci responded."

And that's what's important, right? You can be infected and not even show symptoms. It's not getting severely sick or dying...that's important...right Vy?

Good of you to support him and those that were dedicated to protecting Americans from sickness and death. 👏 👏 👏

More of your fevered dreams. They just never end.

There is no "music" that Fauci will ever face. None. And I don't recall Fauci, or anyone else in the government, claiming that the vaccines protect "overly well" against transmission. It was social distancing, wearing masks, staying out of crowded spaces, and isolation that reduced transmission - just as they still do today. Just as they always will. Yet here we are, with well over a year's worth of data supporting the efficacy of vaccinations, and you still have a bug up your ass about them. At some point you might try asking yourself why. Obsession isn't healthy.

Well, the only thing that he is going to face is an impressive White House ceremony where an enfeebled President awards him for his long service to the nation.

Yes, it was disgraceful how cocksure many people in 2020 were that they knew everything about the virus and who called skeptics the nastiest names possible.
