Nope, not a Democrat, but able to recognize she was shot in self defense, e.g., not murdered. She was a member of a violent mob, trying to break into the House chamber. She just happened to be the first idiot to actually attempt to climb over the police barricade. Whomever tried that stunt was going to get shot.
 
I read the article in the link but I didn't see anything about an award of 5 million dollars.

Is this award based on a civil case?

And Byrd didn't shoot first. He waited until that angry, violent mob broke out the windows. Then he warned them to get back. Some listened. Babbitt didn't. Only after someone was stupid enough to attempt to breach their barricade, did he shoot.

Breaching the final barricade where Congress members were being held and protected against the violent mob, against numerous directly lawful commands to cease and desist doesn’t warrant her being shot? Who the **** do you think you are kidding?
