Do you not understand the difference between:
and
- Everybody does it, so who gives a ****?
In case you don't understand the difference, one dismisses the possibility of things ever getting better, the other suggests that perhaps the appropriate focus is the problem rather than on who you can point the finger at.
- Everybody does it, so don't pretend your side has the moral high ground any more than the other side.
Moral high ground???
I didn't see anything to imply that in Prof's post or in the article he cited.
Anyway, the common tactic used by those who don't want to address an issue is to deflect to "everyone does it", not because they don't give a **** or are combating some "moral high ground". It's because they want to avoid talking about the issue in the context given. You know...trying to avoid getting their noses rubbed in the stuff.
It's the clear implication in every single one of these discussion.
Right, except that's clearly what I wasn't doing. As I've stated. Multiple times.
A clear implication???
Care to show me how you arrived by this implication?
Sure.
After that, I'll prove the sky is blue.
I think the perceived implication is only in that deflecting mind of yours.
Would you like to debate the laws of thermodynamics next?
My point is that you're asking for proof of something which is so obvious that it should be indisputable.
I think the perceived implication is only in that deflecting mind of yours.
Oh my god. A conservative arrived at this thought. This is great.
Really important: Consider this effect in your own thinking. Especially regarding the motivations of liberals. Suddenly the world will stop looking so black and white, us vs. them, etc.
