F-150 price to increase thanks to the orange Jesus (2 Viewers)

Nothing free about it. Everyone uses tariffs and other policies to heavily manipulate all aspects of our economy and others. We promoted the outsourcing of big parts if our economy by using manipulation. Now we are dealing with the consequences.

If they can produce something cheaper than us, then it makes sense to let them make it and buy it from them.

AND I'M PROUD TO BE A DUMB 'MURICAN
WHERE AT LEAST I KNOW THE FEES
FOR A BRAND NEW TRUCK
WILL BE INCREASED
THANKS TO TRUMP'S STUPIDITIES!

AND I'LL GLADLY KNEEL DOWN
AND KISS HIS ASS
SINCE THAT'S A CUCK'S SWEET KINK

CAUSE THEIR AIN'T NO DOUBT, I LOVE THAT MAN
GOD BLESS MY CHEETO KING!

"My post, right or wrong."
Why when you know the ratio is disputed?? I think in your shoes, I would acknowledge that there's dispute in the figures, not dig in my heels over what is undeniably in dispute, especially for what is obviously an attempt at leftist propagandizing. If you want credibility, at least acknowledge the disparity
Lol, you guys realize that @Hari Seldon cited the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and @Logophile over here cited some random tire shop right?

And what’s the number supposed to represent, anyway? Is it by weight, by cost, by quantity, what? Point being: no shit it’ll be effected by tariffs, along with most everything else these days.

Apparently my source is liberal and woke so it doesn't count.

You don't make your own clothes or grow your own food because it's cheaper to outsource those things.

It's not debatable because one side thinks the economy is a jobs program. It's not.
Cheaper doesn't always make sense. In fact lots of our policies keep prices elevated. Most nations do this to protect parts of their economies.

No. Buying milk at the store is definitely better than buying a farm with cows.

For the same reason you don't make your own clothes.

It depends on what kind of standard of living you want. If you avoid trade you are going to be dirt poor.
That's just plain silly. The richest designers in rhe world "made their own clothes." Btw, nobody's avoiding trade. However, the fastest way to go broke is by borrowing money to overpay for goods that aren't equitably offered or traded. That may be okay with some Democrats who think money grows on trees along with their insatiable appetite for junk and their sense of entitlement, but money doesn't grow on trees and actual working folks are done supporting them to the detriment of themselves, their own families and their country. The deficit has to be addressed and the debt reduced, plain and simple. If food's too expensive, grow it

The point is, these figures are nebulous. Nobody really knows, but I'll take the word of a tire guy any day over the word of a bunch of disconnected, gas lighting bureaucrats that declared Biden sharp as a tack. Bureaucrats often justify their jobs with cherry picked "data," and pawn it off as concrete. It's anything but

They aren’t nebulous, though. Ford employs a project manager for the F-150 who knows exactly where those components come from.

There is an external reality with cold, hard truth underneath. Ford isn’t going to eat a loss to absorb some extra taxes for you, if anything they’ll overcharge. Don’t act surprised when Trump’s 10% de facto sales tax costs us 15% or more.

Very strange that all these people buy something they see no need for, especially considering it is something fairly expensive.

Does one have to declare their political alliance in order to purchase a Ford truck? Glad they were never on my list.

I don't think it is very strange at all. There are a lot of people that live WAY above their means.

Well you're proving my point. Your education is commendable and your experience most appreciated, but given the enormity of the global environmental problems we face now, American forests are simply a cog in the wheel. Trump is not going to destroy American federal lands anywhere near as much as the corrupt federal environmental administrators have in the past that allowed for example, overgrazing and handed off timber contracts to the highest bidder with many a likely under the table handshakes
ahh. you proved my point.
you do not know that Trump is not going to destroy the forest because the sale and harvesting has not started yet under Trump.
your opinion is noted.

Irrelevant. I was remarking on someone claiming those people don't see a need for the trucks they buy, not that they can't afford them.

Ford didn't publish those numbers directly though. Some bureaucrat did. And I don't expect Ford to eat a loss or absorb taxes. I expect what will happen is the tariff stand off will end with more advantageous trade for the US which simply means fair. In the mean time, I think it's better to buck up and let it play out than the endless US undermining on the part of Trump haters. It's just plain idiotic. I didn't act like this when Biden got elected. I wished him well until it became glaringly apparent that he was perverse and not all there

Mike, I'm sorry but you're making dumb assertions. I suspect Trump is shoring up the industry if Canadian timber is held hostage. I really don't know what Democrats want. You want us to go under, is that it??

Well the malignant narcissist scumbag piece of shit liar grifter rapist seditionist felon serial adulterer and tax cheat is certainly perverse and not all there. He's also a mean vindictive asshole.

The only ones undermining the US are Trump and his defenders who are holding our own economy hostage.

This is what passes for measured discussion in some quarters. It sounds like someone stubbed their toe and is reacting like a toddler trying out new words.

Not a Democrat.

What I would want is for President Trump to explain why the USMCA agreement that he signed during his first term is not valid today?
Trump told us it was a great agreement. So what changed?
There are good reasons why the auto industry is set up the way it is between Canada, US and Mexico.

Right. When those words are about Biden it's just fine. When it's about your orange Jesus it's a problem. From those who condone let's go Brandon I will be sure to give your response the attention it deserves.

You see no difference in your string of obscene epithets and "Let's go Brandon". My mother would.

So a euphemism for "**** Joe Biden" is somehow more acceptable than malignant narcissist scumbag piece of shit liar grifter rapist seditionist felon serial adulterer and tax cheat. Got it. I love magidiot values.

Actually, it is. I didn't see a whole lot of euphemism in your hackish string of profanity and derogatory. That's fine though. Talk how you like, and I'll comment on it whenever I like.

Like what?? Please. Enlighten me. When detroit was churning out junk, Japan was welcome and kicked butt, but that was a long time ago. And as you know Japan never left, and Korea and Germany and everybody else is selling their cars here without much hassle. However, our "too big to fail" American auto makers do make vehicles people like now, especially trucks. Do American car manufacturers enjoy the same treatment in foreign countries?? You tell me
