F-150 price to increase thanks to the orange Jesus (2 Viewers)

I want countries that impose tariffs on American exports to stop charging those tariffs. Quite a few of these countries have volunteered to negotiate eliminating these tariffs. President Trump said that if they get rid of their tariffs, we will get rid of our tariffs on their exports to us.
Trump is sanctioning countries that don't buy American stuff to the same value that America buys their stuff. That's not a tariff. Likewise if European food is required to be at a high standard of purity or cleanliness, then your hormone soaked beef or salmonella-riddled chicken isn't going to make it here.
Trump is trying to strong arm weaker countries into giving the USA favourable terms. It's a small step up from bullying schoolkids out of their lunch money

Buy EVs, made in America.

Oh wait......................
Why? So TDS inflicted left wing morons can key them in parking lots because they dislike Elon Musk working with the Trump administration? Or burn them at dealerships?

OMG, drop the TDS slogan already. I am sure it tickles you to use it, but it is so friggin' immature and childish. Plus you have NO idea what I meant by what I said. So not only do your TDS comments look immature, it is embarrassing how you assumed I meant something when I might have meant something else.

It's not just trucks, it's auto parts, electronics, construction materials, etc.

You want the idiot government to regulate the economy, then this is what you get.

You forgot an adjective. Here, let me fix it for you: “idiot TRUMP government”. There, that’s more accurate.

Do you want the huge price increases for basically everything that are resulting too? Are you in favor of runaway inflation courtesy of Trump?

This is just a marketing ploy. Jack up the price and provide a bigger 'discount' when sales don't meet expectations.

As Japanese and European vehicles will have higher prices Ford can easily increase prices for the f150 and it will seem cheap in comparison.

You really do need an English comprehension course.

Maybe you didn't write those words claiming that most people who buy trucks don't need them?

Because you're certainly intent on abandoning them.

I wonder what percentage of F-15o owners were Trump voters? 80%? 90%? Welcome to TrumpWorld, fellas. Get used to it.

You "wonder" and then make a wildass guess upon which you base a conclusion.

Are you the source for @Hari Seldon 's stupid claims?

Did you see them guarding a Tesla dealership? All pickup trucks but no actual Teslas. Interesting dynamic the Holocaust denying fascist asshole has created for himself.

TDS! TDS! TDS!

Sounds like you are having a heated argument with yourself. Take care now.

I believe it is.
Remember - 150 divided by 5 maga morons = their individual IQ OF 30. 😂

Ford will be interested to learn their products are purchased on a partisan basis. I suppose when MAGA is gone, their sales will retreat to the dismal levels they experienced pre-MAGA.

Trump was fighting unfair business practices in 2016. Now, I 2024, he's fighting the unfair trade practices he accepted in '16. In 2028, he will be fighting the unfair practices he accepted in '24.

Life is a battle for Trump because for all his bitching and moaning, he doesn't really make any difference. The US economy, so far, just goes on being the envy of the world.

That's how authoritarians are. No concept of progress. Just the same old battles over and over again.

Can we blame the Great Depression on government regulations?

Well, tariffs are a form of regulation and many people agree that the Smoot-Hawley tariffs turned a recession into a depression.
Nope, imports and exports declined due to less demand worldwide. What made the US collapse worse was the declines in money supply, '29-32.

From personal experience of years of visiting companies in Canada and Mexico that make parts for American vehicles "Assembled In America" proves to be true instead of "Made In America" which is a lie.

As Japanese and European vehicles will have higher prices Ford can easily increase prices for the f150 and it will seem cheap in comparison.
This is an excellent point that most people do not consider..... if all of the competitive products are offered at a higher price point, then US domestic products will also increase in price (probably not as much), because they can.... the market value is set higher, so the demand curve shifts accordingly.

Assembled in the US. I believe only 32% of the parts are from Canada and the US. Your post is bogus.
Just so you know, from 2024

The Ford F-150 parts are made in various locations, with different percentages of domestic content. The F-150 is assembled in Michigan and Missouri, but the domestic parts content rating for the F-150 is 60 percent, which is lower than in previous years. Additionally, Ford Motor Company manufactures its F-Series and Ranger trucks throughout the world, with other truck versions rebranded and sometimes redesigned for foreign sales.
It’s important to note that the federal government defines domestic content as parts that are built in the U.S. or Canada, but not Mexico. https://www.ahgautoservice.com/where-are-ford-f-150-parts-made/
In summary, while the F-150 is assembled in the United States, the parts themselves come from various locations, resulting in a domestic content rating of 60-70 percent.

A domestic content rating of 60 - 70 percent is not nearly as dire as 32 percent

We need manufacturing to return to the US, and it will. As well we need to address the federal debt. In addition, we need to rid ourselves of the excessive disposable junk and the ridiculous, rampant materialism that is driving severe global environmental stress/pollution, along with driving the US to ruin. It's gonna hurt some, yes, but it has to be done. We in the US have become gluttons at our own expense, instead of good stewards of our nation and the planet. I commend this administration for not kicking the can down the road

Have you kept up on what this Administration has done to cut environmental regulations to protect the planet?

Have you kept up on what President Trump has proposed on increased timber, oil&gas. etc. production from federal lands while cutting people who would make it happen.
Have you kept up on Trump wanting to short cut the environmental review process for such sales and mining operations?

Seems to me this Administration while wanting more manufacturing in the US is doing so at the expense of the environment.

It's really simpler than that. By default, our environment will improve. Every human being enjoying the privileges of our global economy has an enormous and very damaging footprint. We don't need MORE junk, we need better made necessities that last for decades. That stuff used to be made in the US and should be again. That requires the consumer pony up more money. Guess we'll just have to forego all the junk to afford something of quality. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with refurbished wood furniture instead of glued together cardboard that winds up proliferating in landfills if it gets wet. And there's certainly nothing wrong with less pollution from sea and air transport of trinkets and junk
