I'm not arguing that. This clearly shows incompetence on the governments part. It doesn't however show that the numbers were skewed deliberately as many on here are suggesting.
He saw positive numbers and wanted to get them into the public as fast as possible to help boost support, morale, whatever. He made the assumption the reporting process was accurate and took the chance in presenting numbers not 100% verified. It happens all the time in business. It's a gamble and in this scenario it backfired on him.
It definitely was a stupid move on his part. He should have waited and had the numbers double checked before he opened his mouth. But that's the gamble he choose to take.
I've seen this same type of optimism kill people's careers. Obama seems to be going that way too.
It is not transparent it is getting caught
:rofl
The point of transparency is so that they types of discrepancies can be found by independent parties. Of course the hope is no discrepancies will be found but obviously that didn't work out to well.
Not being transparent would be not making this data available and mistakes like this never being found. Would you rather have it like that? It goes without saying that it would be preferred to have transparency and no discrepancy but that's not the case here.

This site cost 18 million dollars and it is still incompetent what does that say about Obama?
$18M Being Spent to Redesign Recovery.gov Web Site - The Note
Nice strawman ya got there..:rofl
It's a lie, because PBO is claiming that hundreds of thousands of job have already been saved by the stealfromus money that has already been spent.
PBO's own recovery chief says that those numbers can't be verified, yet PBO has touted them as accurate for several weeks now. Now, either PBO is lieing, or he's just stupid.
Recovery Board Chairman: We Can?t Certify Jobs Data at Recovery.gov - The Note
I take it that your excluding jobs created from the stimulus package.

That he's like every other President in our history.
Hundreds of millions of dollars are wasted every year on deadend projects and no one says anything. This project has potential but an error was found that can be fixed. Let them fix is. The ability of having transpraency where our tax dollars are being spent is worth the 18 million.
Let's focus on the $100 billion that we have seen in improper spending year over year.
More than $98 billion in improper gov't payments
News from The Associated Press
Obama says he will pay for healthcare by stopping medicare fraud yet it goes up over 20 billion his firest year.
Good point.
He's excluding jobs that won't last. Name some of the jobs created that will give someone a career or at least a long enough time to get their life on track. Or even jobs that could lead to other careers.
Nah, bored, I do enjoy seeing conservative circle jerks. Especially when they get all bent up with faux fiscal responsibility after turning a blind eye for eight years of the previous administration. So continue with the circle jerk.Enjoy
I think that nuclear-waste cleanup in Aiken, S.C, would have some long-term benefits, as well as the 325,000 teachers and education employees added to the work force. It seems to me that were on track to meet the goal laid out of “creating and saving” 3.5 million by the end of next year.
When the chairman of the Recovery Board says that he cant certify job data posted on Recovery.gov.That hardly, equates to an Obama lie.

So your saying that because Republican politicians betrayed their conservative beliefs that gives Liberals the right to bitch about the deficit for eights years under a Republican then turn a blind eye once a Demo gets in?
Strucky;
Where are you getting your numbers from?
Nah, just pointing out the hypocrisy of all the bitching about a “Democrat President”, coming in and cleaning up the mess left by eight years of …cough, cough, a so called “Republican President” mess, that seems to be the way it is, as usual. After all, it took Clinton eight years to clean the mess of 12 years of Reagan, Bush #1. :2wave:
Its a good thing democrats have Bush to blame for Obama's failures.
One year, into an eight year term is hardly a failure; :2wavelus if you take a closer look at my post, I was also including another past President in addition to George the first.
So, that's your excuse for PBO? Stupidity?
