Appears he may have instigated the fight
No idea but no one else charged
Former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports broadcaster Mark Sanchez was arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Saturday and is facing three misdemeanor charges in relation to an incident where he was stabbed and taken to a hospital.
The IMPD said Sanchez was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication. No further individuals are being sought by detectives. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision, the IMPD said.
Detectives had reviewed video footage of the confrontation, which police said occurred in the popular downtown nightlife Wholesale District next to the Indiana statehouse.

I hope Sanchez makes a full recovery, but something about this story told me that he wasn't just an innocent victim.

He started shit with a door dasher, attacked and got poked is what I heard. CTE is wild.

Meh. Not breaking news.

Some details on what led to this...

Sanchez was stabbed and pepper sprayed by a 69-year-old truck driver during the incident in Indianapolis, where the former New York Jets star was due to cover an NFL game between the Colts and Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Sanchez allegedly confronted the driver, known only as “PT” in the police affidavit, at a loading bay outside a hotel. PT says he was picking up used cooking oil from the hotel when Sanchez, who he claims smelled of alcohol, attempted to enter the truck. PT says Sanchez told him the manager of the hotel said he did not want the oil picked up.

PT said he believed Sanchez was “trying to kill me” and used pepper spray to protect himself. When the spray did not stop Sanchez advancing on him, PT said he stabbed the former quarterback “two or three times”. Sanchez then allegedly threw PT against a dumpster before “a look of shock” came across his face and he “took off”. Detectives have reviewed video footage of the incident. Witnesses said Sanchez and PT filmed each other with the cellphones during the incident.

I think the highlight of his career was that he beat Tom Brady in the playoffs once, but that was Darrell Revis and the Jets defense. He ate a hot dog on the sidelines once, right before he was supposed to play.

I can't imagine Fox Sports will put him back on air while this plays out in court.

He's toast. It's not like he was a legendary college or NFL player. Matt Leinart wasn't a great NFL QB but he had a solid career with the USC Trojans and has morphed into a college sports personality. I could see Leinart surviving a DUI maybe, but not even he gets away with this kind of shit.

He's toast.
I think you're right. He attacked a 69 year old man with a level of violence that rose to a felony.

The truck driver has not been charged so I'm thinking the cops feel his level of self defence was justified.

I hadn't even heard about Sanchez in years. I had no idea he was in broadcasting until this story came out. He was already an afterthought, and now he'll probably be professionally disappeared.

So Sanchez was drunk and running wind sprints in the lane and objected to the truck parked there. He entered the truck and attacked the driver who was also stabbed. Photos posted by the trucker's family show a large gash on his face.

The driver is suing Sanchez and Fox Sports.

Sanchez is said to have been running wind sprints in that alley. Who does that while drinking out on the town? Now he is charged with a felony, and the lawsuits are piling up. The gash in the man's face looks like it was done with a can opener. Sanchez was so drunk he claims he remembers nothing. Sanchez after he gets out of prison will never work again or maybe he could fill the opening for the company that the old man resigned from.

He is now charged with a felony and facing many lawsuits. He is done.

It seems that 'mean drunk' is Mark's MO...

“Mark has always had a bit of an ego issue—thinking he was superior to everyone else,” said the friend. “When he’d had a few drinks, he was always an annoying guy.”

He recalls numerous incidents on nights out when Sanchez would start becoming increasingly rude and “start arguing about nonsense” as the boozy nights wore on.

“He killed the party so many times because of his behavior,” the source added.

“I talked with a couple of other guys who played with him, and many of us feel the same way: it had to happen to a guy like him because he absolutely crosses the line when he drinks.”

The prison sentence Sanchez will receive will be the least of his concerns.

First, there is a clause in his Fox Sports contract that prohibits any verbiage or behavior that brings disrepute to Fox News. He's toast.

Second, he will be sued for possibly millions. He will lose those suits.
