The religious extremists in Kansas have lost their majority on the Kansas State Board of Education. The issue of forcing students to accept creationism as science is now dead.
I have no problem with creationism. I actually believe that God created me, but that belief is based on faith. True, evolution is still only a theory, but it is science because it is based on a premise where the evidence can be observed and tested, whereas creationism cannot. Is evolution true? Nobody knows for sure, in regard to human beings, but the observation and testing is still in progress, and the evidence is pretty compelling, although not 100 percent. On the other hand, creationism is pretty much based on a lot of what-ifs, and that is the difference. Although evolution is still a theory, creationism is a fairy tale, scientifically speaking.
Good to see that Kansas has come to its senses. Let creationism be taught in religion classes where it belongs.
