"Everyone welcome" is now unacceptable.

I had hoped the obvious would make this a short thread but peeps got axes to grind.

The sign obviously says everyone is welcome here. Others want to read into that.

Hari Seldon, whose deterministic nature is challenged by real-world events and individual choices that deviate from the predicted path.

Is there anyone in this thread who might have asked you how you could have tied Trump into this story about an innocent teacher trying to do the right thing.?

And spare me the simulated foul language if you are going to give me a serious, mature response.

I guess you didn't read the anti dei bullshit being the reason for the sign removal. The malignant narcissist scumbag piece of shit liar grifter rapist seditionist felon serial adulterer and tax cheat started it all. He is a true asshole.

Righties do not believe that everyone is welcome. Except for their own. Then inclusion is mandated.
Hell if you dont include them to their liking they bitch and moan,

Hari, despite your penchant for copy and past vulgarity, you make me laugh.

Cart before the horse on this.

It wasn’t labor unions forcing Blacks out. It was the prevailing views of White America having as much effect on their labor unions as it was everyplace else.

Labor unions are a tool. It’s the -woke operating the tool that give that tool it’s nature, not the tool - wguch has no nature of its own.

Example: I properly use a hammer to drive a nail. I use it to cave in a skull. Neither use was the tool’s idea.

Same argument I make when others say unions were corrupt. Not do. Unions were corrupted. Not the same things. The idea of unions went corrupt. The weak people who came into power within them, purchased off by corporate power deliberately influencing their hierarchies to topple them from within, were the problem. Not the idea of representation of labor in closed shops.

The reason I make the case is I’d prefer we not cast unions in a negative light. I think they are important and we need them back.

Labor unions function as cartels. The point is to monopolize the labor supply for a firm or industry, and then demand wage increases from a company which by law must deal with the union/cartel.

How anyone on this planet could think this is good thing is beyond my comprehension.

Absolutely correct. The need for it is the robber barons were doing the same from the opposite end. Acting in accord to suppress wages, black ball those who insisted on being treated fairly. Go back and read the history on watermarks and other such things.

When you reduce people, literally, to machine arts the “cogs” need a way to remind ownership they are human beings.

I’m a devout capitalist but being a law enforcer for as long as I was exposed me to what people are capable of in both extremes. The good within us and the bad, and most of the bad takes place for two reasons; desperation or someone forgot they are dealing with other human beings.

Labor unions exist as they do to remind ownership/management they are dealing with human beings. They divide the cards in the deck a little more evenly. Otherwise one side in having the jobs to provide, the wages to set, etc. have ALL the cards and, sometimes, they don’t play fair with them. They forget their employees are people rather than numbers on a spreadsheet. They stop practicing Golden Rule Ethical Thinking, treating their employees as they’d prefer to be treated if they worked for them.

If you think otherwise I’ll provide a multitude of examples throughout history that prove differently.

Owner/management and labor live in a symbiotic relationship. BOTH need to remember that. BOTH need reason to be reminded. Labor unions are the reminder for owner/management end of that equation.

Love your statement: "When you reduce people, literally, to machine arts the “cogs” need a way to remind ownership they are human beings."
Every year the NFL trades players and coaches to treat people like machine parts or cogs in a big wheel in order to come up with the best combination of components so they can be better than the next machine.
And, you know what? This is what people wish to see.
How is that any different from what trade unions do to improve their positions with corporations using trade members to improve their bargaining positions?

Gow would people ever get by without you telling them what they believe?

People on the far right told us exactly who they are when they elected Donald Trump to be the president of the United States, including you. We don’t need to tell anyone anything. We can see with our own eyes what you people believe.

You speak in terms of we and us.

You are terrified at the prospect of being an adult individual, now, aren't you?
