'Everybody Draw Mohammed' Page Briefly Vanishes Due to Facebook Glitch

You're claiming that it is ok with insulting an entire religion just because some make threats.

You are Anti-Muslim, sorry you don't like the truth.

It's okay to insult an entire religion just for laughs.

Remember SNL's "Church Lady"?

So why isn't it okay to insult some other religion, for laughs, when the joke is inspired by fanatic lunatic terrorist baby-killing murders using that religion as a sad sorry excuse for their crimes?

Looks like you people like to discriminate between religions and play favorites.

I don't really give a flying **** about who draws muhammed or not, if they want to, all power to them.

But at the end of the day... why are we doing this? I mean I understand what happened with the danish cartoon years ago and how they got so angry, but wouldn't it just be better to live and let live, to respect them and their beliefs and culture, then maybe they'd respect us. I mean, I just don't understand why this has to happen. I'd understand if it were muslims organizing this to open up their religion (and I'm sure there are some doing this) but to the muslim world, it's just a bunch of western assholes dissing them, and all the more reason for them to get pissed off with us.

NO.

It's time to start rubbing their noses in the fact that they don't have the right to control the actions of other people.

It's time for them to grow up.

I've yet to see a single respectful depiction of Muhammed meant to stand up for freedom of speech. I've only seen hateful images attacking every adherent of Islam and mocking their beliefs. In retrospect, it's been exactly as venemous and juvenile as an internet based "Everybody draw <religious figure> day" should be expected to be

Since Islam DOES NOT stand for freedom, why would honest people depict the Pedophile Prophet as a defender of the most basic of American liberties?

Eh? Where did I say that people should depict Mohammed as a defender of free speech?

here you go:

there is more out there, but yes there is a lot of disrespect as well, it is human nature, even more particularly on the internets, a bastion of juvenile, and disrespectful behavior, and even more particularly since this whole thing is in response to freedom of expression being disrespected, then it is only natural that many would decide to use freedom of expression to be disrespectful in kind- tis the nature of the beast, that IS freedom of speech/expression.

Skipped through a few times and AFAICT it's 10 mins of some dude talking to a webcam. Forgive me for not watching the video, may I ask why you posted it?

Of course. But being as juvenile and crass as possible is a poor way to make a point or try to take a moral high ground. Simple, respectful depictions such as can be found on the Supreme Court building make a point. The trash I've seen today confirms everything that makes certain muslims angry about depictions of Muhammed

because it is an example of exactly what you said you had not been able to find -a respectful observance of the purpose of this day, and because of the narrative that accompanies the drawing, and the salient points made.

At least watch the last 3 minutes or so.

and the purpose of this was NOT to be as juvenile and crass as possible, but that is the perception that too many assume.

As I understand this crap they don't like characters drawn on any "god" including the silly Jesus guy. But this "death to the disbelievers" is ****. We do have a constituion that allows opinions and dissent and if the radical mooses-lums don't llike it they should all be killed. (How's THAT for radical?!)
