I doubt very highly that there are any high school history textbooks that describe slavery as anything other than completely horrible.

Florida’s public schools will now teach students that some Black people benefited from slavery because it taught them useful skills, part of new African American history standards approved Wednesday that were blasted by a state teachers' union as a “step backward.”

The Florida State Board of Education’s new standards includes controversial language about how “slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit,” according to a 216-page document about the state’s 2023 standards in social studies, posted by the Florida Department of Education....

This article is nothing but pablum and is taking tons out of context. Like I said before, I would like to actually read one or two of these textbooks before I judged whether or not they were deliberately sweeping history under the rug.

Strife between communities and police weren't "caused by black lives matter", it existed before black lives matter, that is what they were protesting.

Black Lives Matter was founded on a lie. You know the Michael Brown case, right?

Usually, people up to no good, no matter the color, are going to attract the attention of the police, or have the police called on them. Are there some bad cops? Of course. Is there systemic racism against blacks by police? No. The police patrol where the crime is. I live in Idaho bordering Oregon. Across the river it's a depressed area, alot of white trash. Do you think no one gets hassled by the cops because they are white? Also, the narrative about cops killing unarmed suspects is also false. You can be unarmed and still pose a threat to an officer. Put here's a way to put it in the simplest terms possible......Obey the law, don't hang out with criminals, and you will almost guarantee yourself to not have cops hassle you.

A well made and jarring video. Creepy line-drawn, dancing ghosts of the past are haunting too. Physical bondage may have ended in America but wage-slavery is alive and well even today. The worst excesses of unbridled capitalism need to be tempered by powerful American states and the US Federal Government. Thank you for sharing the video.

Like how do they defend this shit? Chattel slavery didnt allow them to benefit one bit from their own labor.
