Europe is pushing back on Trump’s Greenland threats.

France has said the European Union will not allow other nations to attack its "sovereign borders", after US President-Elect Donald Trump refused to rule out using military force to seize Greenland.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot told French radio "there is obviously no question that the European Union would let other nations of the world attack its sovereign borders, whoever they are".

So far Trump has alienated Canada, Panama, Mexico and Europe, all US allies.

I'm wondering if he's spewing all this bullshit, to push someone/something to try and prevent him taking office. Just to cause more ****ing chaos! I know it's farfetched and infantile and ridiculous to use his position like that (see Putin), but it's just beyond belief that he's saying this shit and he's not even the President yet.

If this ever comes to fruition, **** everyone who voted for him.

It's all quite comical when you think about it. Greenland as a territory of Denmark, is a NATO country. What's he going to do... attack an NATO country? Buy it and soar the debt plus take on the ongoing costs? Or maybe how about increase the American military presence there if he thinks it's strategic. Which one makes most sense? Do Trumpers ever think?

Oh right I forgot about Putin. He's got to be on the floor laughing at all this.

Trump's threats are pushing Vlad to the back seat as far as which country poses the greatest threat to the western world.

He is helping Russia, China, North Korea, and other illiberal nations crush the post WW II, American led, international rules-based order.

The question is whether he is doing it deliberately or he's just a ****ing self-absorbed moron who can't see past his own dick and is being manipulated.

I think it is the latter.

The United States purchased a similar piece of land in Alaska. We have a right to a fair market-value deal.

What they are thinking is that the European nations won’t push back on anything the U.S. really wants, and as “leader of the free world” the U.S. is entitled to seize whatever land and resources it wants.

Why is Trumps shit eating trolling only employed against our allies

Because our allies are part of a complicated world order of systems that he doesn't understand, and his ignorance makes him feel exposed, insecure, and inadequate. Our allies aren't impressed by his fake wealth the way a lot of Americans are, and that makes him feel exposed, insecure, and inadequate. Trump lashes out at groups of people and individuals who, in his mind, project class, quiet confidence, and intellectual superiority. Trump is unapologetically ignorant, which is fine when no one mentions it or when he doesn't otherwise realize it. But when someone points it out to him or when he realizes it serendipitously, he bristles. Small mushroom syndrome, maybe.

Why is Donald so obsessed with Greenland?

The concept of "Live and let live" never occurred to him.

With him it's more like "Bully and counterattack."

He probably figures power should not be 'wasted' on peace, prosperity and harmony.

The initial reaction to Seward back then was similar. "Seward's folly" it was called.

We all see how that turned out.

He is aggressive towards only to those he perceives as weaker- a little like a wild dog.
And he's daring anyone to defying him...starting with Republican congress people at home. MTG has already shown she'll be in lockstep with him, that's no surprise. We'll see what happens if and when Trump commits America's blood and treasure to fulfill his egomaniacal territorial goals.

All of this will definitely drive down the price of eggs.

Trumpists have been positively overjoyed with winning the election and believe they are now the smartest people on planet Earth who hold the secret to electoral success.

There’s only one thing worse than not knowing why you lost.

It’s not understanding the reasons you won and if Trump does everything he says he’s gonna do, tarriffs, mass deportations etc.

Americans better buckle up, cause “it can’t happen here” is ignoring history where massive shifts in norms can and do occur in history without regards to impact.

How much he can actually do remains to be seen but if one looks at the American system and what a President can do…

What’s actually stopping him?

We'd crush France's armies, navy, and Air Force like a bug.

Anyway, Trump never threatened to take Greenland's ice cycle factories by military force.

France's president is speaking out his ass about a threat never made.
