This one-party state ruled by the autocratic regime of the president and his small circle of senior advisers and military commanders is widely considered one of the world’s most repressive. Corruption is a major problem. The politicized and understaffed judiciary has never ruled against the government. Protection of property rights is poor. The state often expropriates private property without notice, explanation, or compensation. Freedom of speech, press, assembly, and association are severely restricted. Less than 1% of the population has access to the internet. Those that practice "unregistered" religions, criticize the government, try to flee the nation, or escape military duty are arrested and put into prison. In 2015, a 500-page UNHRC report detailed allegations of extrajudicial executions, torture, indefinitely prolonged national service and forced labor, and indicated that sexual harassment, rape and prolonged sexual servitude by state officials are also widespread.

Also, all men 18-39 are drafted into the military. The life expectancy of eritreia is probably like 50 which means that people are forced to spend the majority of their lives in the military of an african country which likely means even stricter rules and hard stuff. Wh couldn't eithiopia have won the eithiopian civil war? Eithiopia may not be democratic but there are communities of christians, muslims, and mayby jewish people living in harmony and not in fear of government retribution. Comparint eithiopia to eritrea is like comparing china to north korea.

So, Eritrea is the "North Korea" of Africa, eh?

So, tell me, when did they acquire nukes?

Ok, they're too poor to get nukes but their human rights abuses give north korea a run for its money.
