Religions tend to be Conservative, and since they were created in patriarchal societies they tend to remain patriarchal. True for both the Abrahamitic religions and others.

Equal rights come from law. It can be debated whether equal rights laws apply to religious institutions.

It took Western civilization millennia to catch up with the legal rights afforded to ancient Egyptian women. Women were included in the clergy, but males dominated.

Same rights as in ancient Egypt.
 
Quite simple really.

Men created religion.
Men regulate religion.
Men manage religion.
Men enforce religion.
Men control religion.

No "god" had anything to do with it.

It's all about men, control, and power.
Not true at all. In the USA women dominate most churches.
