Private messages between Governor’s Christie’s deputy chief of staff and two of his top executives at the Port Authority reveal a vindictive effort to create “traffic problems in Fort Lee” by shutting lanes to the George Washington Bridge and apparent pleasure at the resulting gridlock. -
The messages are replete with references and insults to Fort Lee’s mayor, who had failed to endorse Christie for re-election and they chronicle how local officials tried to reach the Port Authority in a vain effort to eliminate the paralyzing gridlock that overwhelmed his town of 35,000, which sits in the shadow of the bridge, the world’s busiest.
The documents obtained by The Record raise serious doubts about months of claims by the Christie administration that the September closures of local access lanes to the George Washington Bridge were part of a traffic study initiated solely by the Port Authority.
Officials are not responsible for the actions of their advisors.
Maybe they were "Just following orders."
Officials are not responsible for the actions of their aidvisors.
Someone intentionally creating massive traffic jams should be charged with terrorism.
So should someone forcing ACA (forced commerce) down the throats of working Americans
Officials are not responsible for the actions of their aidvisors.
Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy
Is this simply an instance where Christie's coterie of friends and lackeys thought they would show Dems that they shouldn't mess with Chris or was Christie himself the instigator? It is doubtful we will ever know, two of those involved have already "fallen upon their swords" - there will be others but will any of them tell the tale in court?
Just gotta make everything about Obama, don't you guys? :lamo
My french fries are a little mushy. Thanks, Obama.
I'm not faulting Christie in this matter because frankly I don't care, but this sentiment is generally false. Supervisors are almost always responsible for those they supervise.
and you guys have to whine about bridge closures against anyone that disagrees with Obama. The wind is blowing today, thanks Christie:lamo:lamo
Um, complaining about someone deliberately causing a traffic jam is topical to this thread. In case you didn't realize.

One a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest...my interest in this is a 2.
I care...but only barely.
Chris Christie's Bridge Scandal, Explained | Mother Jones... The emails contradict repeated statements by Christie that neither his staff nor anyone from his campaign was involved with the lane closures.
The messages also lay bare Christie's staff's gleeful anticipation of Fort Lee's traffic debacle. On the day of the lane closures and in the aftermath, Christie's top aids privately traded jabs at Fort Lee's mayor and mocked the town's residents as they struggled to deal with the traffic.
What are the highlights? "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee," Bridget Anne Kelly, a top Christie aide, wrote in an email to Wildstein. "Got it," Wildstein replied.
One text message sent to Wildstein on the day of the lane closures referenced mass school bus delays. "Is it wrong that I'm smiling?" the message read.
"No," Wildstein wrote.
"I feel badly about the kids. I guess," the person, who is unidentified, texted back.
Wildstein replied, "They are the children of Buono voters." Barbara Buono was the Democratic challenger to Christie who lost handily to the governor last November.
Numerous messages mock Fort Lee's mayor as he scrambled to learn the reason behind the closures from the Port Authority and spoke publicly about the closures in the aftermath. In one email sent the day of the closures, Wildstein assures Kelly that the Port Authority was responding to Sokolich with "Radio silence."
As Sokolich began speaking to press after the closures, Bill Sepien, Christie's campaign manager wrote, "The mayor is an idiot."
"It will be a tough November for this little Serbian," Wildstein wrote to Sepien, apparently referencing Sokolich's nationality. Elsewhere in the documents, Bill Baroni, the deputy executive director of the Port Authority, refers to Sokolich as "Serbian." Sokolich is Croatian.

and you failed miserably in doing that. Do you need more cheese sir?
Gotta love it!
Liberals and socialists think an Ambassador and four security personnel being left in Benghazi to die by Hillary Clinton and President Obama
Holy **** you people still believe this. :lamo

That's interesting, isn't it?
If a McDonald's employee sabotages the cars of McDonald's customers? He's considered an "agent" of McDonald's, and the company is liable. How is it our officials are given passes?
Ross Perot called it the giant sucking sound. Naturally, the difference between Benghazi and a lane closing is that nobody on the left was inconvenienced by Benghazi.Gotta love it!
Liberals and socialists think an Ambassador and four security personnel being left in Benghazi to die by Hillary Clinton and President Obama is no big deal, but closing a lane on a bridge is grounds for the death penalty.
Has anyone actually studied what goes on between the ears of the average leftist?
