Musk may step down from managing Twitter - oh well, at least he can move on to more interesting things

Elon Musk: Twitter users vote in favour of boss resigning

By Michael Race & Zoe Kleinman
Business reporter & Technology editor, BBC News

Twitter users have voted in favour of Elon Musk stepping down as the platform's chief executive after the billionaire ran a poll on his future.
A total of 57.5% voted "yes" after Mr Musk asked his 122 million followers whether he should stand down.
Mr Musk, who bought Twitter for $44bn (£36bn), said before the poll closed that he would abide by the result.

This was always going to happen. Musk wasn't going to stay at the head of Twitter forever and with stepping down he can install a "stooge" to take all the hate away from him all the while still giving the orders.

Interesting.

Well, probably a good idea. I wonder who he will hire to replace him....

Likely true that he was never going to stay as a day to day CEO. Although the "hate" is not going to stop as long as he remains owner.

LOL!

That thought crossed my mind as well. Probably not likely though!

I mean c'mon ..... Musk is a smart man and, he warned to be careful what the voters wished for right ?

As long as the new CEO is multi-racial, non-binary and has at least 20,000,000 followers it will all be fine. Those really should be the criteria for any executive position in this country.

I think Elon put up that vote because he realized that he's spending too much time on Twitter and wants an "out" while saving face.
and this makes all those haters who say they are leaving Twitter, who really aren't feel important. He is playing them.

It's a clever way to fire yourself without having to admit to doing anything wrong.

"Ah well, it would have turned out great if I had stayed, but the people have spoken!"

Don't worry, if that happens he can always jump back in and claim victory when he turns it back to Making Twitter Great Again ;)

I'm sure round 2 will be a masterfully planned controlled demolition of all my illusions about Musk being a douche.
