Ellen's gets devasted by a remix of her Bush'splanation

Has Bush changed his mind on Marriage Equality? Has he admitted that the War in Iraq was a horrible mistake and that his stupidity is responsible for the death of tens of thousands of innocent people?

Yes and yes

Interview: Iraq war my biggest regret, Bush admits | US news | The Guardian

George Bush, in a moment of reflection ahead of his departure from the White House, last night admitted that the decision to go to war against Saddam Hussein on the basis of flawed intelligence was the biggest regret of his presidency.

George H.W. Bush: I Have 'Mellowed' On Gay Marriage | HuffPost

“Personally, I still believe in traditional marriage,” Bush wrote, according to a copy of the book obtained by the Times, titled “Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush.” “But people should be able to do what they want to do, without discrimination. People have a right to be happy. I guess you could say I have mellowed.”

You can't force everyone to believe in what you believe but maybe by being the more tolerant one, you can help people to mellow out and grow to accept it.

Bernie Sanders = Donald Trump. Got it.

Bernie Sanders ain't gonna get the ticket. You're gonna get Biden, and he ain't gonna stop the hate or the bombings.

lol

^^^^^^Apathy.

"If you don't fight for it, the chances of it happening are zero." - Elizabeth Warren

That's not apathy, that's actually reality.

And that quote is exactly why I vote 3rd party. If you don't fight for it, the chances of it happening are zero. If I don't support third parties, vote for third parties, the chances of them having an influence are zero. So I will support the third parties.

You can be apathetic if you like. You can sit there and support the status quo and pretend that you'll change the status quo by supporting the status quo. Hate on the other side when the status quo doesn't change. But I'm not really OK where things have gotten, and so I'll fight and support those who I believe will best serve the Republic and The People.

"The biggest regret of all the presidency has to have been the intelligence failure in Iraq," Bush told ABC television in an interview scheduled for broadcast last night. "I wish the intelligence had been different, I guess."

Wow, Bush passing the buck onto the intelligence community is so brave, so bold, so introspective. You could technically say that he didn't even have a choice in the matter.

So much apology! It's really humbling.

Better to look into it at all than just throw a milkshake at it and avoid a real conversation.

Cheney and Rumsfeld cooked the intelligence. This is a historical fact. Please quote in that article where Bush apologizes for this. I promise to forego the milkshake for all eternity if you can provide the quote/passage in that article or any article.

If Bush issues a sufficient apology would you agree not to throw a milkshake on him if presented with the opportunity?

Sure. I would expect the apology to be proportionate to the crime, though.

George H.W. Bush is not George W. Bush. Show me that quote.

I believe in facts. So yes, I can.

but maybe by being the more tolerant one, you can help people to mellow out and grow to accept it.

It's a nice theory, but The Obamas always said when they go low we go high. How did that work out for the Democratic party? Decade after decade I've watched liberals try and be nice, unifying, hopeful. Desperate to compromise to try and compromise. Does it matter? I still see people like you and Ikari compare Obama to Trump as if their exactly the same.

It doesn't matter how much better Hillary Clinton, President Obama, Bernie or Warren Objectively are than Trump I still watch people like Ikari act like their all the same. I think you'll find that while leverage and aggression may have their faults they are sadly more effective then kindness and compassion. Kindness to enemies like the ones we are facing just gives them a false sense of reality. It helps them believe that their ideas are worthy of consideration even though they are disgustingly insane.

when they go low we go high
isn't that what Ellen does?

Sure. I would expect the apology to be proportionate to the crime, though.

If we start with the premise that the absence of any apology would be met with a FULL milkshake, can we then negotiate some sort of proportionality? I mean, if he were to issue an apology which offered some remorse but failed to totally meet your standard of proportionality would you be willing to reduce the volume of milkshake from, say, a full 24 oz. to maybe 8 or 10 ounces?

This thread shows the big difference between the libs and conservatives. The libs have all their panties in a wad because a supposed lib would associate with someone who has a different view that her. While no Conservative gives a rat's behind that Bush associates with a lesbian. One group has tolerance, the other has none.

Re: Ellen gets devasted by a remix of her Bush'splanation

I cannot find the actual remix, but Michael Brooks of Majority Report has a clip of it in his commentary.

Pause it at around 3:30. This... is not going well for Ellen.

Did that guy say "billions of deaths" (caused by Bush)?

Boy. What a circle-jerk of who gives a ****?

Yeah, that's her standard operating procedure. It's how she convinces herself she's a smart person by pretending to be above it all.

Thats kinda what i get from people that play the both sides game but i understand where Ikari is originally coming from. I think people believe that making things equal fault will spur people to hold their representatives in a non partisan manner, but it misses the fact that false equivalencies in general spurs complacency as well.

Re: Ellen gets devasted by a remix of her Bush'splanation

Nope, he said millions.

Posting it again is not an answer. I listened several times. I tried to read his lips. It sounded and looked like billions.

Bush has been largely burned by the Right for a long time now. He voted for Hillary Clinton after all. They have convinced themselves that Bush's failures were caused by the fact that he was too liberal. I can assure you that if Bush had been seen hanging around Ellen in 2004 Jerry Falwell and his Moral Majority would have flipped the **** out.

So what do you want me to do? He said millions and I bookmarked it for your convenience. Try turning on the subtitles if you're having further difficulty. Here's a screenshot. Beyond that, I'm pretty close to being out of options.

Bush's favorability rating is pretty high now.

Between the people who actually like Bush and the people who like Ellen more than they dislike Bush, there's really not a lot of "devastation" which is going to happen to Ellen. She's got the vast majority of Americans on her side in this tempest.

Not a lot of people have even heard of the podcast you posted in the OP.
