Elizabeth Warren, Once a Front-Runner, Will Drop Out of Presidential Race - The New York Times

Senator*Elizabeth Warrenof Massachusetts plans to drop out of the presidential race on Thursday and will inform her staff of her plans later this morning, according to a person close to her, ending a run defined by an avalanche of policy plans that aimed to pull the Democratic Party to the left and appealed to enough voters to make her briefly a front-runner last fall, but that proved unable to translate excitement from elite progressives into backing from the party’s more working-class and diverse base.

Well, that's that. I'm not gonna lie. Biden wasn't in my top three. I am encouraged, however, to see the Democratic party learn the lesson that the Clinton disaster showed them. Biden can beat Trump. Now comes the hard work.

Not unexpected.

Not unexpected.

I haven't really been paying attention this week. Warren's supporters would be a more natural fit for Sanders, but I think most sane people just want to defeat Trump. Biden can do that now that people are coalescing.

Once Biden began to show a resurgence it was all but certain the rest would begin to fall to the wayside....the only remaining question is who he will pick for a running mate.

One of the tricky parts for Warren is that her staff is unionized. That's crazy.

Wait...

I thought the democrats having too many candidates was going to be their downfall??

A lot of first rodeos around here.

Trumps team is ahead 35-0 and you want to remove the quarterback?

This country has not had such prosperity in such long time.

Out of curiosity, how does this play out if Warren dropped out because she’ll be Bernie’s VP pick?

She was screwed the day she got the DNA test....

I think she knows Bernie has no shot of getting the nomination. The DNC will never allow it.

She hates Bernie anyway. I don't know if she has it in her to nominate the male version of herself. Men are evil in her world.

Here I thought the talking heads on the right were correct and there would be an all out civil war between the supporters of the 2 dozen factions that initially sought the nomination. I really believed they were right and we'd get to November with a "clowncar" of Democrats vs a Trumpian GOP.

It was supposed to be Sanders, Warren, Bernie, Biden, Klobuchar and Buttigieg and 20 other people vs Trump. I was being told Biden wasn't a top contender and that's why it didn't matter if Trump worked with a foreign government to dig up dirt on him. Imagine that, now Biden is in the lead for delegates, and (correct me if I'm wrong) popular vote. Whaaaaats that all about?

Maybe some of these goofballs on the right are just more run of the mill Trump cult members and like everyone else they've got no idea what's in store.

Probably still coasting off having guessed correctly in 2016.

From the beginning, my first choice to beat Trump was Biden, so I'm glad he still going strong. Second choices were Klobuchar and Buttigieg, but didn't think they could beat Trump as well. Hopefully the Democratic party will come together this time and vote Democratic to stop Commander Bone Spurs from running the country into the sewer. As an Independent, my vote will go for the Democratic nominee.

Oh yeah paying a decent wage along with worker rights, that is all kinds of crazy

Bernie would have to be insane to choose her as his VP. She already turned on him alleging he said a woman couldn't be president and basically called him a liar when he denied the accusation. And having a chattering nervous nelly biting at his ear every day is something Sanders would not tolerate. Sanders would do well with a good VP choice, just like Biden will, and she's not a good choice for either, IMO.

Possibly K Harris

She is intelligent and would have made a good president. Plus, her election would have made so many Trumpster heads explode that the cleanup effort would have created a lot of well paying public employee union jobs. Either way, remember in November, and vote against the impeached peach.

She would make an excellent president. But I don't think this country can elect a woman president - certainly not one who feels women should have control over their own bodies - too radical an idea.
