El Salvador’s President Says He Won’t Return Man Who Was Mistakenly Deported
===========
- Deportations: In an appearance at the White House with President Trump, President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador said his country would not order the return a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported. Mr. Bukele’s visit came as the Trump administration has stepped up its use of a notorious Salvadoran prison to hold migrants deported by the United States.
- Lawsuit: The American Civil Liberties Union filed another lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s use of a powerful wartime statute to deport Venezuelan immigrants to El Salvador. The lawsuit, brought in Federal District Court in Colorado, was the third of its kind filed in recent days.
It's almost like El Salvador and our White House are run by a bunch of lawless thugs, who won't do the right thing because it's the right thing.
Makes us speculate whether the Maryland man is still alive.
My guess is that this is what Trump directed them to say. There is no way I will accept or believe that Trump doesn't have the power and clout to have them do what ever he says. After all he got them to take all of them in the first place.

It’s crazy we’re paying them to do this so Trump can inflict terror on American citizens. They want to establish the precedent.
The United States is set to pay El Salvador $6 million to imprison 300 alleged members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang that it deports to the Central American country, for one year, the Associated Press reported on Saturday, citing an internal memo.
"El Salvador confirms it will house these individuals for one (1) year, pending the United States’ decision on their long term disposition," AP quoted a memo from El Salvador's Foreign Ministry as saying.

The U.S. sent 238 Venezuelan migrants to a Salvadoran mega-prison. The Trump administration says they're all gang members, but 60 Minutes could find no criminal records for 75% of them.www.cbsnews.com

Yeah, the one year is bullshit. Those people are in a prison for those sentenced to life. They will die there. They want to establish the precedent.

Why would he do that? He only cares about what Trump thinks of him, not the rest of the US.If it was me as el presidente, I’da brought the young man back with me on my plane, you all figure this out.
You have a mortal compass. If it was me as el presidente, I’da brought the young man back with me on my plane, you all figure this out.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My guess is that this is what Trump directed them to say.
He does, he just does not want to follow the law.My guess is that this is what Trump directed them to say. There is no way I will accept or believe that Trump doesn't have the power and clout to have them do what ever he says. After all he got them to take all of them in the first place.
The Supreme Court are not directing the administration to start releasing criminals. They are directing to return a wrongfully deportation which doesn’t require much work. How hard it is to agree that you made a mistake and make this go away with his return. Not hard.Oh, no, what can our country do against mighty El Salvador? They are no less a powerhouse than the Soviet Union under Khrushchev was. We have to tread very carefully when dealing with them and negotiating the release of prisoners from their Gulags.
Trump needs to serve hard time for what he has done. Unlawfully deporting an innocent man is not an official act. Trump CAN and WILL be held accountable for that. The Supreme Court are not directing the administration to start releasing criminals. They are directing to return a wrongfully deportation which doesn’t require much work. How hard it is to agree that you made a mistake and make this go away with his return. Not hard.
Why? Trump, probably, promised him a lot of American taxpayers money to go towards him. It makes perfect sense for him to do that...it's all about the money.Idiot. This is unforgivable.

Essentially, Trump and his goons are purposely violating the rights of those they deport. Got it.The whole point of deporting these people, including US citizens, is to keep them out of the reach of US courts.
Keep this in mind when someone you care about suddenly disappears.
My guess is that this is what Trump directed them to say. There is no way I will accept or believe that Trump doesn't have the power and clout to have them do what ever he says. After all he got them to take all of them in the first place.
I don't know about that. SCOTUS very carefully chose and used the term "facilitate". And the SCOTUS ruling carefully took executive power into account. The specifically did not override itHe thumbed his nose at the SCOTUS.
