Is anyone else excited about the eclipse? Someone gave me this link which will show you how it's going to look from your zip code area. Pretty neat!

It's really interesting to me how civilization long ago reacted to events like this. It must have been frightening not knowing what was happening.
Anyone getting those "glasses"? I have to look into them, but I probably won't bother.

After reading Day of the Triffids I have no intention of looking at any celestial event in the sky ever again! :shock:

Jealous of you guys for having a front row seat, we'll only get a partial eclipse up here...and I think it's going to be raining, if the weatherman is to be believed...Enjoy!

I picked up a piece of #14 welding glass on Amazon a couple years ago for looking at the sun. I think it was like $5. Works great, and it's big enough to go in front of my binoculars.
That's cool,, Just be extremely careful that the glass does not slip off the bino's,, You'll get the ant in the magnifying glass scenerio.. And that aint' good..
13 minutes! So excited! I couldn't find glasses, but I did find welder's lenses shade 14. Although I won't see a total here in NY, I'm excited anyway
Oh, I just learned recently that the next one in 2024 will be more in the eastern part of the country.......NY will have 90% eclipse where I am upstate!
Using binoculars if you have some over my safety glasses; tricky but it's 10X magnification; will check the partial right now with safety glasses over binocs ;
Currently at full eclipse in Tucson. This is HIGHLY overrated.
