President Obama's top spokesman wouldn't say why the Obama administration is rebuffing requests to illuminate the White House in blue to honor police officers gunned down in Dallas and now Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
"I don't anticipate that that is something that we will do," press secretary Josh Earnest answered on Monday when asked if the administration will acquiesce to calls from police departments and others to do so.

Yes, but for whom?
When the flag is at Half mast, it usually Is for paying respect to those who died in a tradgedy.
The flag at the White House is at halfmast
Flying the flag at half mast happens for numerous reasons. I would think that if the White House can be lit in a rainbow in solidarity with the LGBT community for the SCOTUS ruling on SSM, the White House is lit in Pink for Breast Cancer awareness, it was lit in the colors of the French flag following terrorist attacks in France, and we know they have blue lights because in addition to the SCOTUS SSM ruling they lit up in blue for Autism Awareness, then surely it can be lit in blue by the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the nation, The President as laid out in Article II of the US Constitution, in solidarity with his fellow law enforcement officers.
What are his priorities? With whom does he show solidarity and with whom does he refuse to do so? Why would they not given the other times that they have?
How about we make this super simple: No lighting of the White House for anything.

It will be at halfmast when Bergdhal dies too.
Right. If we do it for one thing and don't do it for another, even if the reasons are legit, somebody's going to get all butt-hurt over it.Agreed I think it's stupid. That being said, The White House seems to be lit for great celebration of a milestone in a social cause. That's probably why no blue.
It will? And you know that how?
Because he served his country with honor a distinction.:lamo

The answer is American traditions are now subject to his interpretation. And the ones he wishes to eliminate will receive 0 recognition.
That response is as dumb as the first post. Quit wasting your and my time.
I have no control of your time. And it is not that stupid when you consider the extremes he went to for this man(?) and what he will not do for the police, who do serve with honor and distinction 99.9% of the time.
The Bergdahl reference was moronic.
That is your opinion. Now, stop wasting your time.
These tragedies aren't new, lighting the White House blue would be.Earnest can't say why WH won't be lit in blue to honor cops | Washington Examiner
nor, at this point would anyone in their right might EXPECT YOU TOO, which is the saddest part of all. that is why this administration nauseates people in one simple headline. that is why we can't wait to see you go. that's why 75% of the country thinks we are going in the WRONG DIRECTION.
go....away......now
