E.U. rejects Johnson’s Brexit proposal

The US does not apply the same hygiene standards so no thanks. As for pharmaceuticals - you dodged what I said.

1) Then starve (and US organic standards are higher than the UK/EU BTW. We do not allow antibiotics in organic foods).

2) No, I did not dodge anything. I have provided source after source refuting this same claim kept being made without any objective evidence. People having "fear" something could happen or even expecting something could happen is not supported by the reality that extensive plans have been made for that particular issue and arrangements made as a fail safe should those plans fall short.

What is it with really weird looking crazy far right politicans these days?

Electing Incompetent buffoons is all the rage with Putin these days. It make his enemies look like fools and discredits democracy. Oh and they all are beholding to him for their election and do his bidding too.And for you Brits out there, if Brexit is so good why did Putin help get it passed?

The Benn Act only details the wording of the application for extension of the date. It does not limit Mr. Johnson, his government or other proxies making further communications to poison the waters or to appeal to sympathetic European countries to block such an extension. I have read the act and find no explicit requirement for good faith on the part of the government.

European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 2) Act 2019

Cheers.

Section 4 states "The Prime Minister must seek to obtain from the European Council an extension of the period under Article 50". It has been established that seek to obtain means that he can't do anything to frustrate it, i.e. he can't send a 2nd letter or try to persuade a country to veto. The government has accepted this.

Where is that written into the law? Who has established what "seek to obtain" means and what legal ruling has established what you say? The recent Scottish high court ruling did not go that far, although it said that having made public pronouncements of its willingness to cooperate with the Benn Act, the Johnson Government has committed itself to that course of action, ie following the letter of the Benn Act 2019. Nothing stops the government from using back channels to poison the application or from informally petitioning EU member states to reject the request.

In short, offer up some proof of what you say has been "established" and explain by what authority that establishment has come please.

Cheers.

more proof of your propensity for constantly providing garbage to these forums.

One of the reasons there's little meat import into the EU from the US is that US standards do not meet the much higher EU standards. Both regarding hormones and antibiotics.
No, I did not dodge anything. I have provided source after source refuting this same claim ......~
You have provided nothing.

Not surprising really, considering that no reputable source would support the garbage you habitually emit.

"Dear, EU:

I hereby request, pursuant to act of Parliament, that you extend Brexit until January to allow yourself more time to reconsider my most excellent proposal that is the best you are going to get.

Very truly.

Boris Johnson"

October 31 is coming fast. The EU will cave. They cannot afford not to with their struggling economy heading into a tariff war with the US.

The EU cannot cave because Ireland will never agree to it.

The EU cannot afford to allow Boris Johnson from dictating the brexit negotiations. The EU has a hell of a lot less to loose than the UK.

And the UK cannot cave because there is no way in hell they are giving Spain concurrent control over Gibraltar. Unstoppable brexit hitting immovable EU is going to be exciting.

The border to Gibraltar is not a problem. It is a "hard" border already... and only a few 100 meters long/wide.

Also Gibraltar is basically Spanish in all but name these days.. fun fact, the most heard language in stores...Spanish. The problem is the criminals that use the Rock as a safe haven and the lack of action by Westminster to combat this.

Spain threatening to close that border after Brexit unless they get concurrent control is going to be a problem for all those spanish speaking shoppers, workers, etc.

This is widely known and accepted in both political circles and in the court cases that has resulted. The government, which hates the Benn Act, conceded that they can't frustrate it via 2nd letters, etc., in documents provided to the court.

Oh, and you don't have to finish all your posts with "Cheers, Evilroddy". It's just replicating information that is already displayed on the side of the computer screen.

The Scottish court ruling underlines the need for the government to operate in good faith, and indeed, having made the statement that it is too soon for them to take enforcement action on last weeks ruling and go direct to the EU to ask for an extension, they have held back final judgement till after 19th October pending the Government's application

Goes for UK, goes for EU, goes for Gibraltar and goes for Brexit.

Trying to hide that ignorance with your barrages of opinionated and otherwise inane blather isn't working.

...........and Gib. isn't even in the customs union, nor was it ever.

Because the border becomes an external border. So it will be "closed" as per the rules of an external border. Frankly, Gib and Spain have agreed on everything but it is as usual Westminster that is screwing up.

That too. Problem is, that the UK government has not ratified the deal it made with Spain.. Spain has, but not the UK. So....

It's been a painful watch these last few weeks.
My resolve to ignore abundant tripe was neutralized by my annoyance over it.

Gibraltar shipments from the UK by land still travel through the border well, until October 31.

I provided links in post 64 when you obsessed about a photo showing surgical gloves and 74 as well. Since you and chiggars apparently never read links because it doesn't serve your UK Evil EU Saints narrative, then if you want to find them, you will have to make the effort, given your utter lack thereof thus far.
