Dow down another 1500 points Sunday evening.

(Sarcasm)Where is Lee Harvey Oswald when you need him?

No. We're stuck with tRump unless 2/3 of the Senate gets its shit together.

I assume they already invested there—before foreign markets disintegrated as well. Some people went overseas because they hate Trump. Fooled them.

Personally my reaction to Trump was to I've shift into investments in gold and companies that sell cheap goods.

Congressional GOPers know damn well that Americans won't tolerate another week of the stock market crashing.... If the markets are towering inferno bad again tomorrow, there's gonna be alot of GOPers calling Trump and telling him to stop his Tariffgeddon or else they'll start siding with the Dems in taking legislative action to halt it....
All right! That's what we want to see coming from a self-identified conservative!

Trouble is, so much damage has already been done. The worst part is the damage to our relationships with military allies and other friendly nations.

Another problem is, a bill passed by Congress that takes some control of the nation's tariffs is subject to a presidential veto. Gonna need a LOT of congressional Republicans to wise up to override the veto.

It's not the entire economy, but everyone I know near retirement age is shitting a brick right now because the consequences on their retirement plans are very, very real (unless something drastic happens like Trump walking this back).
I only started having a 401k in the last couple years, but I assume it also took a hit.
I quite literally have not looked at it.

Watching the markets implode over the week may very well get us to a veto override, you know if Trump is stupid enough to veto during such an event.

If Congressional Repubs would grow a spine and throw him out of office already, we could cut our losses and start over with Vance.

But they're too chicken to do that.

But Vance is a complete shitstain toolbag too. I'm not sure that would be an improvement at all.

Starting to look like panic... capitulation this week.
Yeah, and that might normally be a good time to buy. But, I'm not so sure this time. The bad news could go on for some time as some countries retaliate, the effects on our economy (e.g. rising prices) could go on for some time, and the chaos this is causing world-wide seems unlikely to be short lived. And the recovery, when it occurs, may be slow. I'm not buying now.

Japan’s Nikkei plunges at least 8% after open

Just wait til he starts a war with Iran- you know, just to make things even a little more spicy!😃

I don't know about that.

On the several MAGA sites I recon, the public commenters seem to be voraciously cheering on the "Fall of Wall Street".

I mean, there's some serious cheering.

So I'm not sure the incidence of MAGA stock-ownership is as prevalent as we may think,

Anecdotally we see MAGA's on DP that claim they own no stocks, and we see others with no knowledge of 401K's and other portfolios.

62% of Americans may own equities, but we don't know if that cuts across the political divide to MAGA.
MAGAs may not feel the pain from investment accounts, but they will feel the pain from rising prices caused by tariffs. That won't be as quick as the stock market reaction, but it's coming.
