DoorDash will let users buy now, pay later for fast food, a possible worrying sign for the economy

I admit to using door dash way too much and there are a lot more things you can buy on it now. For example, its linked to my local hardware stores and some of those items can be pretty expensive.

I have friend who does door dash. She does a lot more than just delivering food. She does people errands.

What fees are added to whatever is purchased?

That’s the ‘catch’. The BNPL ‘deal’ increases the price of the product(s), but is advertised as being ‘interest free’ credit.

To make money, the BNPL providers charge merchants between 1.5% to 7% of the transaction price, according to Kansas City Federal Reserve research. For some retailers, the costs are worth it, according to research from RBC Capital Markets, which showed online BNPL offerings boosted average ticket sales by 30% to 50% and increase the share of customers who ultimately made a purchase.

I have to ask her. I think she get paid a fixed amount per task. The thing she likes is the flexibility in hours, you can work anything you want - wherever you are. You just tell the app you're available and it starts assigning jobs to you. You can stop anything you want too. She does home medical care, so she uses it to to kill time between medical customers.

Indeed. That's all we need. People who are already addicted to a poor diet, going into debt to get their fix.
