It's a real conundrum. On the one hand, he's very old.

On the other hand, his policies are all starting to bear fruit and people are noticing, which is the perfect trajectory for a re-elect.

I think I've got to come down on the side of "Run, Joe!"

Not his policies. Mostly FED policies. Presidents don't affect economy much in the short term. I've said it many times in prior Presidents' years. I'll say it now just as well.

I agree with your conundrum. I am slightly leaning to the same answer for now - mostly due to his stance on climate and his role during Ukraine war. Heck, even his withdrawal from Afghanistan was a success as far as I am concerned. In any case, most important quality is ability to get elected over the GOP, and despite what I said above, most people won't know this and keep thinking economy relates to President thus making him more electable. So your point remains valid in that respect at least... for now.

Defeating the radicalized Republican candidate is the top priority. If Biden can do it, cool. The Republican party will only correct itself if it experiences multiple consecutive crushing defeats.

Who wrote that? AOC?

Being underwater by a large amount and staying there doesn't exactly bode well for re-election

Don't run, Joe
I think the message is a bit premature. Ten months from now will be a better time to reassess, and cull the herd for likely replacements, including the VP. It also provides plenty of time for anyone else to toss their sombrero in the ring. Let's wait it out.

The Republican Party was done back in 2013. That’s why I fired them in writing after a life long association with them. And what followed in 2016? An outsider (Trump) steamrolls what, 12 Republican a$$hats in the Primaries?

I knew what we were doing 😉

Sure it does.

No it doesn't. Obviously if Biden improves his favorability ratings by 20 points he will have a great shot at getting re-elected. Expecting that to happen is just silly

Same here, as long as his health holds up, he should run. He's accomplished much so far in his term, and has handled all the crap left over from the last failed admin very well. He's been working hard for the American people and our allies, can't ask for more than that....and he has not violated his oath of office and is still an honorable patriotic American, not an insurrection inciting trairor.

Yet the Fed didn't unwind the supply chain crisis, it didn't provide the temporary economic safety net and widespread vax/testing/treatment infrastructure to pull the economy through the massive disruption of the pandemic, it didn't pass major investments in American infrastructure or industrial policy that are pretty clearly surging manufacturing and investment, it didn't institute a whole-of-government approach to promoting competition in the American economy, it didn't push the poverty and uninsurance rates to all-time lows, etc. Biden did all that stuff. The Fed tightened, which certainly had some effect.

But there's a lot going on here and the Biden administration deserves plenty of credit for what may be end up being one of the most astonishing economic stories of our lives.

Except they don't have 10 months they have 2. Joe clearly intends to run again so he isn't going to step aside unless there is a strong candidate to replace him and that candidate has enough momentum that it will embarrass him in the primaries. To do that a candidate has to start building their campaign at the latest early March which gives them a year to build to super Tuesday.

Well said, agree.

Good point, very true. I was confident in 2020 that Biden would win if he ran against trump. If traitor trump runs again, I would definitely want it to be against President Biden. The Republican party is in poor health, on its death bed, and things won't change unless they wake up and stand up against the election denying radicals.

I can’t see myself voting for him…..he just lies way to much. Plus he’s a racist. Plus he’s a pedo. Plus he’s senile. He’s also a socialist or worse.

Trump lost in 2020 because he lost the independent vote to Biden 54-41. Regardless, poll after poll show the public don’t want neither Biden nor Trump to run in 2024. The party that listens to the people and runs a fresh young face against either one will be the winner.

I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if both major parties nominate Biden and Trump. Both major parties have a habit of not listening nor heeding the wants and wishes of America as a whole. They only listen and heed their party’s base which the Republican Party’s base and the Democratic Party’s base makes up approximately 30% for each one of America.

I wish someone younger would take a stab at the job, with Biden's support and approval. Biden is too old.

That said, he's done a fine job as POTUS. Much better than I expected him to when I knew I had to vote for him.

Alright, I stand corrected.

The Republican party will only correct itself if it experiences multiple consecutive crushing defeats.
NOPE, they will never have the wisdom, self awareness or simple smarts to correct themselves.

Favorability ratings in a vacuum really don't mean a whole lot when predicting the result of an election 20 months from now.
The only number that counts is to be just ahead of the other guy when it counts- election day.

And of course, that number gets easier to achieve every day Trump stays in the race.

I'd say that the Republican party is still dangerously competitive. The Democrats will have to work hard to win in 2024.

Rich people need them to win. If they lose badly a number of times, it won't go over well with the donor class.

Well then, you certainly cant vote for Trump the pathogical lying, racist, incest minded possible candidate either......😉
