No matter how promising the outlook may occasionally look for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, remember that President Donald Trump doesn’t even need to win in order to win. He just needs to keep enough voters from casting a ballot to slip through the Electoral College, again. This election is too important to bet it on America’s limited ability to grok statistics. Here’s why anyone who cares about trouncing Trump should pretend the presidential polls and models have all been canceled.....

• No poll can account for the toxic mix of voter suppression, COVID-19 and a president of the United States willing to use every power at his disposal to prevent Americans from voting.
• Trump will lie, cheat and steal in order to keep the one job that prevents him from being indicted — and his party will help him.
• Trump will never stop using his favorite strategy: strategic racism.
• Trump has recaptured his greatest advantage from 2016 — people don’t think he can win.
• Even if he loses, it’s not over. Nov. 3 may see the first presidential election in decades where we won't know the winner on election night, or maybe even election week.​

All Trump needs to do is put forth an upbeat and optimistic message while Grandpa and the left tell us how horrible everything about America is. That should be all that's required, no "suppression" necessary.

When you start entertaining the idea of defunding the police, you are losing votes especially in the suburbs.

When you continue to condone tearing down any statue spray paint and deface war monuments, while declaring systemic racism in this country....you are losing votes.

When you continue to support keeping businesses shut down in the name of Covid while condoning massive protests, you are losing votes.

I feel pretty good about the election.

For example take the viewership of those who watch cable which is overwhelmingly about politics. They are likely voters. FOX blew the ratings for June out of the water. Tucker Carlson had the highest rated viewership record in cable history. FOX took 8 of the top 10 slots on cable. You know how people claim FOX is who the old people watch and they are not as important? Not true, FOX leads viewership in the key demographic ages between 25-54.

Trump supporters seem to be excited over voting for him this election. With Biden the voters are not excited about Biden but rather voting against Trump.

Biden isn't seeing the support of union workers like many Democrats have in the past. I don't know of a police officer that will be voting for Biden. And Biden does not have the support of many blue collar workers. They know the policies he is promoting will be a threat to their jobs. Whether it is the Green New Deal or raising taxes, they know these policies put their jobs in danger.

The overwhelming majority want law and order and people watching what has unfolded in this country since Memorial Day weekend has been a far cry from law and order. They think this nonsense of defunding police is insanity. And they are smart enough to notice the Democratic party is afraid to speak out against it because it is part of their base that is promoting it.

The black vote will be part of the swing vote this year. And Trump has a record of reaching out to the black communities in his 3 1/2 years in office. From prison reform to make right 1994 crime law, which Biden helped author when he was a senator, incentivized local police departments to lock up as many black people as possible, creating mass incarceration of African Americans, along with more prison cells and more aggressive policing. And the there was the 1986 crack law Biden was responsible for which came to be viewed as one of the most racially slanted sentencing policies on record as it treated crack cocaine as significantly worse than powder cocaine and ended up disproportionately punishing blacks and sending them to prison but sparing white folks who typically used cocaine. It is Trump and his administration that rectified that wrong. But doesn't stop there, the First Step Act, released thousands of people from jail (90 percent of whom were black). He has promoted “opportunity zones” that incentivized private investment into poor black communities, and also increased federal funding to historically black colleges and universities. This exceeded 100 million more than any president in history. He has been a strong advocate for school choice something that is very popular in black communities. In Trump's actions these past 3 1/2 years has shown the entire country that Black Lives really do matter.

The prolife group that call themselves Democrat have already said they will not support the Democratic candidate because of their policies on abortion.

Right now I am seeing many black people from civil rights activists, ministers, sports heros, economists, educators, law enforcement coming out in support for Trump.. In my 68 years, I have never seen such support for a Republican president among blacks.
