Comey stated in January that Trump wasn't under investigation. That wasn't a pledge that he'd never be under investigation. It's like being in a cafe on Monday and declining a cup of coffee. That doesn't mean that I never want a cup of coffee for the rest of my life.

However, we are in an interesting place with this. Trump said specifically in a Tweet that he was under investigation. So, either he is or Trump cult members must admit that Trump has no idea what he's talking about.
