Recently in the Meagan Kelly interview, Donald Trump announced that his favorite film was the much praised CITIZEN KANE. Now Trump has lots of company in that pick as there is not shortage of panels and polls which name that film the best in the history of cinema.
This is a column written before the Kelly interview that examines many parallels and ironies in the film and Trump. It is well worth reading.

I also wonder how many people have ever seen another old film from Hollywood's Golden Age - the wonderful MEET JOHN DOE directed by the great Frank Capra. It tells the story of a man running for political office in the Depression and the parallels to the tea party movement and Trump are also strong in many places.
