Donalds not sure if he needs to abide by his oath of office.
Yes, thats right.
Donalds "not sure" if he is required to abide by an oath he swore to.
Whats left to say?
What more does one need?
A sworn oath is meaningless to this guy.
What are the mechanisms available to remove donald from office?

The whole thing was cringe-worthy. He doesn’t look well, imo.

We need to keep using this standard, from here on out, imagine how fast "conservatives" and MAGAs would lose their shit if Obama was asked "Does a president need to uphold the Constitution?" and he returned "I don't know."

Donald states he "doesn’t know" when asked if he needs to abide by the Constitution

KING MAGAT aka Donald Trump on January 20th, 2025 sore to this OATH:

Article II, Section 1, Clause 8:

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:– I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

I guess, for muh-fugging MAGAT idiots like Donny Trump Congress needs to reword that OATH of office and add the word "abide" in there so that future dumbasses, like Donny Trump, who might get elected president won't have any confusion on their part as to what "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution" actually means.

LHM

His posture has always been terrible, esp. when seated.

So once again Trump openly and willingly lies.

The Presidential Oath of Office is a sworn statement recited by the President of the United States before entering office.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Removal from office should be forth coming.

Should, but it will not happen.

Can't wait to see the right wing desperation to defend the statement in this thread.

If they ever show up, anyway.
The smart ones will avoid the thread altogether.

The idiots will show up with "but Biden!" or something about activist judges.

Donald loves this kind of shit - whether it's him posting a pic of himself dressed as the Pope, or saying other nations are kissing his ass, or that he's not sure of he has to abide by the Constitution. He gets to be a big boy getting all the attention, and his MAGAs howl and bark like trained seals as they worship him.

Well, he got away with it/o touching the Bible on 20JAN.

…and he probably had his fingers crossed!

A moment like that would have lost him whatever Republican support and a lot of Democratic support along with it. There would have been an immediate apology and clarification as soon as the News and Propatainment started running with the story like a dog with a dropped steak. It would have been too late, though, IMO. It probably would have cost him a second term and more.

His Republican opponent, however, was permitted to attempt a self coup, get his powerful buddies to invalidate the Exclusion Clause, and then avoid his convictions.

There's a pretty serious difference between Democrats and Republicans. I suppose that the only upside if Obama had done it, is that we would have gotten to see the Spicoli / Mr. Hand "I Don't Know" scene flying around everywhere, because Republican strategists would have pounced on it.

Scary thing is that I’m not sure this is really dementia. That’s the best possible scenario.
It's a little boy crying and pointing and saying I want that and presto here's our next eo.

I assume someone should remind him of his oath of office.

Dementia anyone?

WW
There may be some dementia involved, sadly the real danger is that trump is poorly educated and too narcissistic to admit that he bought his way through school, never learning basic civics and how government works.

Kinda like his favorite book, the Bible but couldn’t recite anything.
Kinda like the Declaration of Independence, he had not a clue what it states or who wrote it.

I assume someone should remind him of his oath of office.
That's it though, he doesn't care about the oath. The law and the constitution are whatever he wants in the moment. His MAGA fanboys feel the same. They never cared about the constitution, just having power over brown people.

Trump is trying to shift the responsibility of these decisions onto the DOJ (hey, those progressives who spent years insisting the DOJ is "independent" of the president when it came to criminal investigations by President Biden into his chief political opponent seem to have turned on a dime here. But progressive legal thinking is really nothing more sophisticated than whatever they think gives them political advantage at a given time).

So yes, he is responsible and he is wrong.

However, he is absolutely correct to say that the Executive has the final word on foreign affairs, and not district court judges.
