if you are age 50, or older, get the dreaded 'colonoscopy' ............. it may save your life .............
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorectal_cancer
The colorectal exam is not just a diagnostics. It is one of the few procedures that can actually PREVENT cancer. That's a winner. The prep, although it gets a bad rap, isn't bad at all. The reason people complain about it is that people complain about it. It's drinking a slightly sweet chalky substance and relieving one's self. Oh, the horrors!
If the doctor finds polyps, they are lab tested. If they're just ordinary polyps, you're good for ten years providing you don't have a history of the disease. If they test to be ANOTHER type of polyp, still not cancerous, you'll be told to have another exam in five years. (These are general recommendations.) If it's cancerous, then you hope it hasn't broken through to the edges of the bowel and can start immediate treatment.
There are very few procedures that can actually PREVENT cancer. This is one of them. Every single person should ask their doc about it. It could save your life.
had my first one a little over six years ago; my second one will be tomorrow
today = no solid food aka starving & more restroom visits than most folk see in a week
of course there is that buffet you've been wanting to try on the way home...
Is that the one where they stick the finger up your pooper?
I've apparently got that one too look forward to when I make it to 40.
first is recommended @ age 50, unless there is a family history of colon cancer; in that case first one would be recommended earlier than age 50
sounds like what you are talking about may be a DRE check for enlarged prostate aka BEP
