I never accused all AR-15 owners of anything. I am sure the majority of them are just fine. I just don't see a need for those weapons anywhere in civil society. And I certainly don't believe in this macho crap of all these folks carrying them in public. They scare people and make them feel unsafe. That, IMO is a violation of their rights.

Isn't it interesting that a majority of Americans, and virtually all police officers have no problem with banning them?

You realize that if we had a REAL representative democracy, they would be banned tomorrow. The citizens are not represented on capitol hill, on this issue, the gun lobby is. We can change it all. People are starting to see the problems with guns, although about 50 years late.

If you feel you have a majority of Americans support, why have you not passed an amendment to the constitution which would allow you to ban them? What is stopping you?

The primary purpose of an assault style weapon is to kill people quickly and effectively. That is why they have become the weapons of choice of mass murderers.
