Not questioning the accuracy of the polling but the questions themselves might lead to unintended conclusions. Not exactly much if anything the federal government can do on the issue of abortion, unlike perhaps like inflation, the economy etc. But does that mean the women pissed off about the Dobbs decision won't still hold it against republicans? You must not have seen the middle age and older female Republican politicians, who attend church, who stood up in the South Carolina legislature and begged the Republican men, people from their own party, to at least give them exceptions for rape and incest. This is not a small issue for women like it is for you old dudes.

If the South Carolina Law turns out to be not of the citizens liking then the Legislature will be voted out. That was the point of the Supreme Court decision.

If given a choice old school republicans come out of the walls. They have been ignored beginning with Reagan/Bush. Then ALEC came along and pushed out the real republicans. Then the mass forced exodus
That argument is a red herring. Using Ohio as an example, the republicans hold a veto proof super majority and the statehouse districts are so hopelessly gerry mandered there is no way to vote out that party. And republican voters are not going to vote out their own party based upon the abortion issue.
