Does Dick Cheney believe in the Constitution?

Because you disagree with him? Now we know you debate in bad faith.

How so? What, specifically has Cheney done that persuades you he has overlooked his duty to serve the country?

Again, do you think he has overlooked this duty merely because you disagree with his take on the powers of the Executive?

No one is suggesting a President does. Bush nor Cheney make such a claim. Their actions certain do not reflect such a perception of their office.

What interventions?

Hmmm, and not only did they permit elections to take place, but we're about to see yet another transfer of power in the Executive Branch.

Look, stick to what you know rather than letting your Bush Derangement tak eover your posts.

Blah, blah, blah...yet another demonstration that BDS is alive and well...

Again you and you trolling, its not because I disagree with him... Its because he has been the strongest part of the dusin of people whom have ruined your country over the last decade or so. Look at your country before the Bush admin, look at it now, thats all the proof you need for that claim(which you undoubtfully like always will call my "opinion")..

I am not going to post any replies further to your post unless you debate in a decent and polite way, thank you in advance.

And yes.. I am really angry at the Bush administration for what they have turned your country into, thats not only me, but most of the world and a majority of your country(whom clearly elected the other side in both congress, senate and admin).

Sure it is. In the absence of any other reasoning then all I can conclude is mere disagreement rather than a logical argument.

This nation is not ruined.

What am I supposed to be looking at?

No. Thank you.

Bush was a lame duck President and the recent election had nothing to do with ousting him.

Your anger is causing your brain to malfunction, hence your repeated and unsupported smears.

Buh-bye!

The election result had everything to do with a dislike for the policies of the last 8 years. Democrats won all houses and the admin, clearly there is a connection...

I just love it when someone outside the U.S. criticizes us, but doesn't have enough courage to even list the name of his own country.

It's best to ignore people like this. They have no right to criticize the us.

So I should list the country I live in in every post? It just happens to be that my identity is quite different. I am half French, half Norwegian, 3 first years in France, education and childhood in Norway, Norwegian intellect and a mix of French and Norwegian genes. As if that is not enough I speak 7 languages and live in different countries(in western Europe) almost every year for the last 5 years. So its safe for me to describe my identity as western European, thank you.

Ps. I do not have a strong connection with any country. Mostly France and Norway though, but not like regular people, especially no nationalism stuff. I collect the best from everywhere :2razz:

No, not every post.

You have Western Europe listed in your profile that DOES show up on the side of every post.

Yes, and I explained why in my last post which you clearly didnt have the capability to read.

Cheney never said the President's powers are unlimited, he said Congress cannot limit the Presidents authority. This statement is true. Separation of powers allows checks and balances, meaning Congress and cut funding, and thereby limit actions. However they cannot limit his authority under the Constitution. This fat slob on the video is a blubbering fool. The Constitution is the authority over the president, not congress.

When the president do not follow the constitution and have a majority in both the congress and the senate for his political party, whom are all "yes robots", then there is a huge problem. The problem is very basic, "two party democracy" will often lead to such a situation where one party has the power to dictate, even make parts of the constitution invalid.

Fortunately, the US has not yet encountered this situation.

Hmmm, then no problem exists then as this situation does not exist.

G'day.

Perhaps an intellectual, hardly a gentleman..

Why pretend to know so much about our nation...have you ever lived here ??
How did you come about your knowledge ?
Our Constitution is very terse to say the least; no-one really follows it slavisyly...its more of a guide...
BTW, on 9-11-01 we were attacked by the Islamic radicals. At that time, as best I recall, our President was given a degree of "war time" powers....this can never be forgotten....

Rather than criticizing our nation, try to understand our position...

Geez.. I think you missed the context of that statement.

Why do you ask these questions? Yes I have actually lived in the US.
I know more about the US that most people including many people from the US because, firstly I know English(unlike many Europeans), secondly I follow news(unlike many), thirdly I follow politics and economics(unlike many)..

I understand your position, and I know you(as a nation) greatly over reacted as a result of all the fear, I do not however understand why you cannot snap out of it.

I'm sure he believes in the Constitution. Now as to whether he gives a damn about it is a completely different story.
