The rubes in his cult do.

But, they have shown their stupidity, so you expect it.

Donald Trump is a right winged extremist borderline KKK leader who causes a chain reaction from left winged extremist fundamentalists who want Stalinism/Communism also! I can't help speaking my mind especially if you all have no idea what you are talking about... Leftists/Rightists are like cavemen illogical, irrational, devolved, primitive and unreasonable beings in my honest opinion essentially. If you want to have a rational and logical discourse or proper change in the world then stop contributing to political polarisation and this joke you call "political debate" in America and the Western world that is just chaos mate! When your debates are full of radical emotional bias.... This is just my opinion, and you are all entitled to disagree with me in fact I encourage such to provoke rational, reasonable and logical discussion.

I am a bit confused. Do people really expect a president to call out another world leader in a press conference standing right next to them?

If Trump did that it could have escalated a war. Were people expecting a fight or a debate?

Are you kidding me?

Russia has been attacking America in the digital realm not only in elections but nuclear etc , infrastructures all kinds of levels they're attacking , the grid etc etc and
A real president would not be standing on a national stage with our enemy allowing Putin to spew forth his propaganda to Americans. A real president would have kept the exchange at a diplomatic level not standing there next to each other on a national TV .Trump is a moron and a threat to our national security for doing this

He made no correction. His "correction" was itself a refutation of the DOJ's and intelligence community's conclusions.

Trump will continue to denegrate the Justice Dept and its agencies. His reason, Mueller more than likely has the goods on Trump and he knows it. When Muellers report is issued the doubt has already been cast in the Adorables minds that its a set up. The one charge he wont wriggle out of is obstruction of justice. Will the GOP impeach him for it, doubt it.

Your very confident about something that you have no evidence of. Is there even a remote possibility in your mind that Trump is in fact innocent of the accusations being made against him?

So you believe his didn’t misspeak and the “correction” is a simply lie?

BS....a President that does not have the requisite diplomatic and oratorical skills to have found the path between crawling on his belly and instigating war is no president at all, which many of us have been saying for awhile now. The idea that the two extremes were the only options is a false narrative.

Does anyone actually believe that Trump misspoke at the news conference?

No, I don't believe it.
- What Trump expressed in Helsinki is the position he has espoused for months. It is a dereliction of his duty to have expressed it from the podium in Helsinki but it is the view Candidate Trump and US Citizen Trump has espoused for a long time.
- He walked back the walk back as soon as it left his lips. So he claims to have misspoke and then offers "that it could have been others" besides Russians that interfered in the 2016 Election. That is a pure spin job. Claim to have misspoken then literally restate the same position you just claimed was a misstatement. Classic spin and nothing more than classic spin.

No. The "correction" he made yesterday is not believable. The word "wouldn't" in the context of the entire statement is jarring, and insulting. Trump was sweet as pie during the entire two man show. He was deferential to Putin to the point of obsequiousness. He then says American intelligence agencies claim the Russians interfered but Putin in his meeting with him "very strongly" denied it. In the next sentence he shrugs and says, "Why would they," politely accepting Putin's denial. To turn his around and outright reject Putin's denial with "Why wouldn't they?", effectively painting Putin's denial as a lie, is to insult the man to his face, something Trump would not do in a million years. If he had wanted not to endorse Putin's position he would have retreated into his typical incoherence. This of course is aside from the fact that Trump has never accepted Russian interference in the election in any meaningful way.

Our president should be so scared of Russia that he dare not offend their president in any way

If you are going to believe other people that claim they mispoke then why not trump?
ol yea TDS bias.

There're folks on this very board who maintain Trump has not told any lies — folks who believe Trump is a "honest politician".

As has already been posted in this thread, what Trump said was in line with what Trump has been saying.

The correction is the outlier of Trump's comments.

Do you disbelieve the other times Trump has indicated he finds Putin's denials plausible?
Or, just this one time?

Does anyone actually believe Trump's "correction" of when he says misspoke?

No. He is a liar.

The idea of accepting any part of that blather from the WH on Tuesday as an effective walkback of the mess from Helsinki is ludicrous. Trump made a complete and utter mess of that head of state to head of state meeting. I can't even call it a summit. It was not a summit. It was a disgrace.

American citizens need to stand up and call their Senators and Congressmen out. Put some lead in their pencil. Rosenstein tried to put some lead in Trump's pencil before Helsinki and that just turned out be something Trump rejected out of hand.

Helsinki was a disaster. Anybody that continues to make excuses for Helsinki is a sycophant. Accepting that mess from the WH on Tuesday is disgusting. Wake up America. Put down your remotes and your donuts and wake up!

that straight shooter; what's not to believe?
his credibility was enhanced by not walking back the remarks until the next day, only after realizing the brouhaha he had initiated

Nope. I don't think his "base" actually does or would if they gave it any thought, but they don't and they don't care either.

All praise the mighty and powerful wizard of orange.

The GOP in Congress have no choice but to pretend to believe it or Trump will kill their political careers.

I totally ignore Trump as much as possible. I realized quite early in his campaign that he says one thing one day, the complete opposite the next, then usually denies saying anything at all on the third. I don't believe a word he says because I know he will changed it tomorrow or send someone from his out to explain what he mean when he said something completely different.

The guy never thinks, he just spouts out whatever pops into his head.
