I recently got an ipad and a one year year free subscription to AppleTV+. So far I am enjoying the content, but unsure if I want to continue after the trial is over. Here are my pros and cons of the service.

PRO - Really good programing with a-list talent attached to it, and the subscription fee is really low. It's 4.99 per month OR 50 dollars a year.
CON - Limited content and must-use an apple device to use the service.

Now I understand that the service is new, launched on November 1st of 2019, but at the same time, they need to put out more content every month. My favorite shows so far have been Ted Lasso, Mythic Quest, The Morning Show and Dickinson.

Does anybody here had the same experience?

BTW, I do not mind that AppleTV+ features a lot of product placement within their shows. That's how they are going to get the cost of the service very low and bank off of the freeloaders.

I had Apple TV since it came out but never watched it. They kept extending my free trail but it finally just canceled it a few weeks ago so I wouldn’t get a surprise charge

Compared to other new streaming services Apple+ is by far the worst. Only thing it has going for it, is that it is free for so long that people will forget they subscribed for it.

It has been around for a year plus now, and there has not really been anything new added that was worth mentioning in the media...and this is media that usually go weeks on why Apple's new colour for its device is better.

I remember when it came out and the Jennifer Aniston series was one of its selling points. I liked the series, but have heard nothing about a second season or anything else special on Apple+ since. And yes I am a bit of a streaming service junkie.

Ted Lasso is their second big hit. Recently it got 20 Emmy nominations, and its favored to dominate on Emmy night.

Just wait till the new Martin Scorsese/Leonardo Dicaprio movie comes out. I suspect the movie will be getting major Oscar and Guild awards. More people will be encouraged to watch their programs.

Never heard of it....which is actually a problem since I try to watch everything new, either via legal streaming or alternate routes when that is not possible. I watch too much TV 😁. Even worse after Googling it, this show looks funny...

But one show vs other streaming services many is just not enough justification for the 5 dollars.

There are a lot of quality shows on AppleTV. Just because it didn't get any major Emmy, Guild, or Golden Globe nominations, doesn't mean there's nothing there. Mythic Quest, Dickinson, and Servant are very good shows too.

Ted Lasso has been a very popular show over the past year. IMDB has it as the 83rd best television show of all-time with an 8.7/10 rating.

The point here is that AppleTV is a baby right now -- less than 2 years of existence. Netflix, Disney+, and AmazonPrime are the kings of the stream service.

I got the Apple TV kit because my tv, a 2014 ish LG isn’t compatible with HBO MAX. Also the movie “Greyhound” with Tom Hanks as a destroyer skipper in anAtlantic convoy in WW2. I already am a subscriber to HBO and get HBO MAX on all my Apple devices. Just not on the LG tv. It must be a money issue, if the signal gets into the house on one device, why not the tv as well.

I am a European football fan and found Ted Lasso impossible to watch. My trial is up the end of this year and we are undecided if to continue. I don’t get the current trend of splitting off the entertainment packages into smaller chunks and then charging individually. At some point people will be paying more than the all inclusive packages…

Actually The Crown is favored heavily on Emmy night.

The Crown is in the drama categories. Ted Lasso is in the comedy categories.
My apologies

I don't watch too many comedies, but i will check out this series. Is it steaming?

Ya i think The Crown will win big, Emna Corrin did a great job, she had the mannerisms and innocence of a 19yo Lady Diana. Same for Gillian Anderson, phenomenal job as Lady Thatcher.

Odd the 2 most influential Prime Minister of the 20th Century were played superbly by Americans. Lithgow picked up an Emmy for his, portrayal of Churchill. If Anderson does not win Best Supporting Actress it will be an injustice.

Ted Lasso is on AppleTV+. The second season starts on Friday. You can buy the first season on DVD. Perhaps its at the local library. It's 10 episodes about 30 minutes long.

I would say Lasso is more of a dramedy than a comedy. The setup is straight out of a comedy: An American football coach gets hired to coach a soccer team in England.

Hmm I always get a ping on shows new seasons. Just got.one for Van Helsing for example.

Watched Ted Lasso and I understand why some Americans find it great. The acting is top notch, but parts of the story is idiotic. Seems the writers have never been to England and looked at Primer League teams. The stadium this team plays on looks like a 3rd division setting and not a "big club" in the top flight. When the guy says there are 10k unsold tickets, I asked...wait you have more than 10k seats in that tiny stadium? For a footie fan it kinda ruins the vibe.

Brett Goldstein is one of the writers on the show. He's a British actor, comedian, and writer.

Yes and it was actually filmed at a top flight football ground.. I had to look that up. Problem is, that it does not look like a top flight football ground, even though it is filmed there! and that comes down to editing and filming.

No idea how the last game of the series is supposed to be at this top flight stadium, because it is so freaking dark. I know Selhurst Park, and no way in hell is it that dark on a match day. Not sure why they did that.

Also almost all pictures of the fans is at the smallest part of Selhurst park for some reason, which makes the club seem small. No need to do that, because Selhurst Park is "small" on Primer League level. It has 25k seats, and yet they mange to make it look like they have under 10k.
