i dont think that the intention from voting to obama is to get your gas and mortage bills payed .

Not sure what she's thinking, McCain is the one who promised to nationalize mortgages.
 
Nationalized mortgages are an awful idea. For all his talk about Obama being a socialist, McCain supported ACTUAL socialism in the form of nationalizing one-third of the banking industry and has proposed to do the same to real estate.

she said she won't have to worry about those things.... could be that she thinks Obama has some magic beans or something.
Not worrying about how we pay our bills is how we got into this mess in the first place.

you're kinda right , Socialism has its defects ,, but we mus'nt ignore its advantages like having a fairer distribution of wealth. The rich don't exploit the poor. People get a fair chance in life.

Is that an advantage? People are not equal, and attempts to force them to be is pure folly IMHO

The rich, being smarter and/or better educated, DO exploit the ignorance of the poor. Being rich is a good indication of being smart. Being poor is a good indication of being ignorant.
Wealth should not be "distributed" to those who choose to be ignorant. Wealth should be earned, but not stolen via such exploitation.
So, stay in school, kids, stay in school....
 

Are the poor ignorant? By and large, yes. But so what? Why does that make wealth redistribution a bad idea? Are they less human?

Public education itself is a form of wealth redistribution, as is pretty much everything else the government does. :roll:
 

This is the biggest bunch of bull I have read in a very long time. Being rich does not equal smart and being poor does not equal being ignorant

Suppose people are'nt equal , suppose that you were the poorest , dont you wish that Socialism were applied then ? you're talking from a RICH point of view ..
 

Wait a minute , do you mean that RICH is the ones who only works and POOR steals the wealth ,,, no way ,,, RICH cant work alone without POOR ,, and the POOR so .. you're trying to Convince yourself that RICH people is the only ones who work .. and thats not true ...
Another thing ,, the poor is going to be rich someday ...
 
I'm not rich by any means, but certainly recogonize that what I earn is exactly what I'm entitled to--nothing more. The rich don't owe me anything simply because they can afford it. Given the dedication to work, and a little luck, anyone can become rich. The idea that we punish those people by making them give more of their money to a government that is the antithesis of the individual's efficiency is asinine.

I have poor siblings, they are uneducated, and they chose to settle for the life they live. No amount of nagging from me or the other siblings would have changed them....
and I am for taxing the rich more than the poor....like one bank robber of the 30's said, I rob banks because that is where the money is. We tax the rich, because they have it....the poor do not. We can't let them starve, can we? but a more useful application of tax dollars is to educate the poor so that we MIGHT have less of them.

then you must be uneducated....
you can be rich and ignorant, but you won't be for long. the smart will find a way to take it from you. and if you are not ignorant, but poor, it is just a matter of time before you use your smarts to climb out of poverty.
Generally speaking of course....but if you are smart, and poor, you CHOOSE to be that way...
 

not what I said, there must be a language barrier at work here....
everybody who has honest income works for it, and SOME of the wealth is not earned, but stolen. I know well off people whose income is low, but they have assets that total 3/4 million dollars, and they go get the free commodities that the govt. gives out. They are stealing....from everybody, even from the poor. And I know some rich who got their money by being dishonest, misrepresenting the value of their products and services, and overcharging for those products and services. You can be a poor thief, or a rich thief, but you are still a thief if you have not EARNED your income.
As for the poor being rich someday, that is religious folly.....there is no rich or poor in the hereafter...where we will all be socialists...:2wave:
 

all right ,, but you are talking about less than 1% from the society .. another thing i dont think that the government is too Oblivious to know whom its dealing with ... you're talking like when applying the socialism all the society will turn into thiefs ... noway that would exactly happen
