And people use the word "journalist" in the same sentence as his name, if that is a name. If so, what language is he speaking because with all the "uhs, doh's, um's, er's I'm thinking it's a Polynesian sub language designed for people whose tongues have been removed.

At the very least I'd say he ranks an IQ of 13.
 
I've been praising Mehdi Hasan as one of my favorite tv journalists - go Mehdi. I used to like Taibbi. A lot of people share that. I actually don't think this particular exchange is especially substantive - establishing Taibbi as careless - but it's good to see.

It might be faint praise, but good for Taibbi for subjecting himself to the accountability of the Mehdi grilling.

He really did disgrace himself. He became most guilty of that on which he has bult a career accusing others of doing. And successfully so.

Matt Tiabbi used to be a good journalist. It is sad that he got so full of himself that he got sloppy and weird.

He is one of those liberal guys that is so anti Clinton that he gave Trump a pass on almost everything.

This also shows how reporting on the Twitter files in Twitter posts was the worst way to go about it because not only does the narrative of the story make no sense as a really long Twitter thread there is also a lack of an editor to check the story before publishing.

Same, and I still do. Everyone makes mistakes. And Matt clearly paid the cost of his own integrity to get himself some attention on a hot button issue. It's too bad. He can fix it.

Just watched that in the Bias in the Media section. That was just awful for Taibbi. He was stuttering throughout the entire thing.

My favorite part is still the 22 million, er I mean 3000, thing.

How embarrassing for him. And that toad Musk.

Coincidentally, he was a former Contributing Editor for Rolling Stone. And obviously you know your namesake, Hunter Thompson's connection with them? I doubt Hunter would be happy.

Honestly, I never thought he was much of a journalist. He certainly is not much of a writer for one thing and its a little hard to be a good journalist if you can't write worth shit. His work on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was dry, boring and was not revelatory. If you are going to try to summarize a story which is really all Taibbi could have done at the point where he came onto the story you better be a good writer. If you can't be first, your job is to speak to the audience in a way that makes the story real to them. Taibbi failed. He has always failed.

Honestly were it not for his dad's reputation and Rolling Stone hunting for the next Hunter S. Thompson, Taibbi would be flipping burgers somewhere which is his true calling. My appolgies to my favorite burger flippers. I don't think Taibbi could carry your jockstraps flipping borders either. He could be burger flipper, 3rd class......MAYBE!

If you cons understood that the country would be in much better shape right now. But you refuse to hold anyone on your team accountable for anything because owning the libs is more important to you.

Taibbi learned the hard way that today's right wing turns everything it touches into shit. He tried to get their clicks and eyeballs for personal gain. And he wanted it so bad, he turned himself into a liar and a bad journalist to get them. And that's how the right turns everything to shit, these days.

Ironically, the people he was most trying to impress don't actually read stuff.
