There are plenty of historical ironies just like that in the past, yes.

It’s always easier for some people to believe that those they hate are secretly responsible for everything that happens rather than face the fact that some things just aren’t in any government’s control

No, I don't think they were false flag attacks. Not everything is a conspiracy, the truth is rather that organizations like FSB can and always will use real security threats to their own benefit to increase their own power.

Though I do think we don't know everything about what was going on, because the FSB clearly was hiding something.
