No.

But, shouldn't we dispense with this nansy-pansy type of "partial" shutdown bull crap.

If Congress is going to shutdown the government than they should be required to actually shut it down. None of this "essential" work force bull shyte.

Shut it down and make it painful so that Congress will really hear from constituents.

Government workers (all of them) are sent home with no back pay for time missed. This includes EVERYONE.
  • Air Traffic Controllers get to stay on the job until aircraft have landed, no new flights are allowed to take off or enter American air space from other countries if they took off after the shutdown time.
  • FBI, Border Patrol, NSA, CIA, etc. - Go home. We'll call you to come back.
  • Government processing of financials stops.
  • No Social Security checks issued.
  • No Medicare checks issued.
  • No VA checks issued.
  • No pay for the military.
  • No pay for military retirees.
  • Payment to State and School districts for everything stops.
  • Federal Courts shut down.
  • Federal Prisons? Lock the inmates in their cell with a weeks worth of MRE's.
  • etc.

Congressional staff is sent home. The only ones allowed to work in the empty Capital Building are the actual members of Congress because under the Constitution their compensation cannot be reduced during their term of office so they are the only ones getting paid.

If a shutdown was a real shut down Congress would think twice before ignoring their responsibilities and pulling political stunts.

Pretty sure you have a lot of this wrong. ATC definitely work during a shutdown, considered essential personnel. They may have to work without pay. Same true for FBI, Border Patrol, ICE, CIA and others. Social Security checks go out.

Read the post again. It was pointing out we don't have a government "shutdown" we have government "slowdowns". It was advicating for stopping the bull shyte that gets called a "shutdown" and says that real shutdows should occur. Actually shut it down.

It was "what should be" and not "what is".

Obama wrecked his second term all by himself by squandering the entire first hundred days of his second term throwing a tantrum about the NRA instead of trying to do something useful for the American people.
 
Trump has never had many skills.

So he learned to use his daddy's money to threaten and extort.

Great attitude. So we just go back and forth not doing our jobs because both side want to play that game? No, they both need to recognize when the other is in power, and try their best to compromise on policy. You don't win the election, you don't have the peoples mandate, the other side does. You shouldn't be obstructionists because it hurts the people adn the nation. Compromise. Right now the left is making demands that they know the right will not agree too just so they can obstruct the party in control an d keep them from getting things done toward their agenda. Hey, they won the election. Democrats need to retool their party. They are dying on issues that most of America disagree with, including most democrats.

The left started on Trump the minute he announced. They literally made up eviodence and presented it to the FISA court. That's a felony. They lied, made up Trump Collusion, couldn't find any evidence to coraporated the Steele Dossier, but refused to clear him because of politics. The supported a third party easeddropping as evidence to impeach, they lied over and over. The discussed their hate of Trump openly and encouraged impeachement without evidence by claimed they had seen the evidence, that never showed up.
But Trump says he hates his enemies and he's wrong. LOL. the left really does have two standards of right/wrong.
