Do you sometimes wish you had practical animal features, such as an elephant-style trunk, a prehensile tail, the ability to inject/spray poison etc. ?

Some animal features are really cool and practical, developed over millions of years and scientists are increasingly finding more and more things from animals and nature that could benefit humans.

I would rather be the hunter than the hunted.

The technology of cooked food allowed us to evolve a prefrontal cortex that is much more advanced than other animals. That alone is a tremendous advantage when it isn't a risk for ending the species. If I could choose an upgrade, I'd probably pick a perfect immune system that could identify every cancerous cell before it becomes anything while not attacking healthy self tissue like joints and unnecessary things like allergens. Being able to run really fast (like 30+ MPH) would also be cool, but it's not usually necessary.

Human woman have it all. I would not wish anything more.

Well, there is a certain feature of a horse I wouldn't mind having.

I’m pretty happy with opposable thumbs and hand dexterity that’s unmatched in the animal kingdom.

I also appreciate the fact that I’m hung like a gorilla. ;)

Early humans were both. Maybe why evolution trended towards the big brain e needed to survive.

Did not know that. How does that work? I just figured it cut down on foodborne illnesses.

I think having an eye on the tip of my finger would be cool...you could count your change in your pocket or see behind you without turning..

I'd very much like to be able to lift my leg like a dog and pee on politicians without getting it all over myself.

I can do that anytime, myself, without the leg lifting thing. A point-and-shoot mechanism, if you will.

I don’t think I’ve ever taken advantage of it, though.

I would like to have better sight and better hearing...does that count? :giggle:

No other species' abilities can measure up to our combination of a) opposable thumbs, and b) intellect. Because of them we build ungodly technological marvels that emulate/outpace other animals.

I’m happy to be godlike 😉:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:27-28

Notice who’s in charge. The elephant with the trunk and no hands? No. The beings who can think and reason and built shit, like rifles to shoot elephants.

Other: ability to fly

I've read a lot of evolutionary biology. Never came across that. Where did you find it?

Nothing is more satisfying to males than peeing on a tree or bush. However, unless we walk around half naked spontaneous pissery is next to impossible. The spontaneous peeing on politicians would be a great pleasure.

My brother, not allowed to smoke in the house, had to smoke outside. At night in the dark he'd smoke outside and in fact had a favorite bush he would pee on while smoking.

One Saturday he was out doing something and returning home up the driveway he saw his wife on her knees in the yard, hands all muddy. He asked his wife what she was doing.

"I was weeding around the bushes. I think we have a leak in the sprinkler line to this bush. It's all soggy." :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Naturally, my brother did the manly thing. He lied. He acted concerned and promised to look at it and fix it later that afternoon.

I continue to hold that secret over my brother's head at every opportunity,

it counts.

eventually we can have better sight and hearing in the Next Life if we walk in the Light in this life.

good to think about and good to know.

that is good news and encouragement for some one.

Articles and podcasts. I really like is this one :

It takes the history of humanity all the way back to the evolution of humans. It's heavy like a doctoral thesis, but it's very interesting. I need to catch up on the episodes, as it has been a couple years since I listened.
