Do the Democrats have a plan for the midterm?

Aside from Hate Trump's good deeds and fighting for illegals ?
I don't think so .
Dems will run on releasing the names in the Epstein files.
Dems are not the Protect Pedophiles Party. That's the GOP.

I think they need to rename the party to something like "Anti-Maga", since this is all they speak about. Or maybe "Boogey Man Chasers", for they must create boogey men for their cult to angst against. They simply are NOT the Democrat Party anymore. Possibly another name could be "Antidepressants Are Us", seeing most suffer from mental disorders. Hell, they elected a demented President and a kackling VP.
Be sure to rename GOP to "Protect Pedophiles Party"

I would be worried if I were a Democrat. It seems like a lost party.

Yeah that’s right. They are just not reading the room as to where this country is these days. They’re not going to win another election until they learn to be openly and proudly racist, bigoted, and anti-science- and they are just not doing that.

They took a big swing and missed with Deja Foxx, the model/TikToker, who lost in the 9th district of Arizona today. Not good for the candidate backed by David Hogg and AOC.

I am not sure if this plan of going with fresh faces like Deja Foxx and re-tread candidates like Beto O’Rourke, Colin Allred, and Joaquin Castro is going to work.

What is the appeal of someone like O'Rourke? Again? He's a loser.

The Democrat party appears to be a complete mess - no leadership, no direction, run by ineffective old-timers that seem to lack a spine.

I agree, so far, the democratic party’s opposition to Trump has been ineffectual. I would say because the democratic party is still in denial over their loss in last year’s election. But more importantly, being leaderless and rudderless as a result of different factions within the democratic party fighting over and for control of the party. They’ve failed to unite in opposition to Trump.

As for the midterms, the democrats do have a 2.4-point lead in the generic congressional ballot.

https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/state-of-the-union/generic-congressional-vote

The rule of thumb is for every point lead in the generic congressional ballot represent a 5-seat gain. Translated, that would mean a democratic gain in the house of 10-13 seats. But we have mixed signals, going district by district, there are as of today 42 competitive house seats, 42 seats that are at risk of switching. 22 belong to the democrats, 18 to the republicans. The other 393 house seats are safe or solid for the party that now holds them. Going by districts, either party could gain or lose between 1-5 seats.

Don’t expect much change in the senate. Currently the republicans have 2 seats in the pure tossup column, NC and MA while their other seats are in the safe or solid category. The democrat have 4 seats in the tossup column, GA, MI, NH and MN with the rest of their seats safe. Even if the democrats were to retain all 4 of their tossup seats and gain the 2 republican tossup seats, that would still leave the GOP in control of the senate 51-49.

These numbers are dynamic. They represent today or if the election were held today this is the likely outcome. Not 15 or so months down the road. Keep in mind that currently Trump’s overall job approval stands at 45.5%. When the Republicans lost control of the house back in 2018, Trump’s overall job approval was at 43.5%, when the democrats lost control of the house in 2022, Biden overall job approval was at 42.4%.

Personally, this far out, I’d be watching Trump’s overall job approval more so than the generic congressional ballot or the at risk of switching districts to see if it falls even further, in the 42/43% range would indicate a republican loss of control of the house. Also important is the question will the democratic party be able to find a leader and unite between now and the midterms. In my opinion failure to find that leader and unite probably would mean the GOP remains in full control. Fighting among themselves for control of the party does nothing but help Trump and the republicans.

God. People ask these questions before almost all elections.

It's like the party in power feels invincible (like during Reagan, Clinton, etc).

But to be honest, this thread is designed to change the subject away from Trump being a pedophile. Expect many more.

They will likely run on simply not being the party in power. They seems to have been enough for the last few midterms for both parties.

The real question is why do you support a pedophile and those/the party/the policies/the Supreme Court who protects him?

And, of course, the 100s of other pedophiles who are being protected/getting away with screwing little girls so to insulate the Republican Party.

In most modern democracies like Canada we snort coffee out our nose when we hear Democrats refer to Republicans as "corrupt", and vice versa.

Countries with independent election commissions and very strict donation limits can only gasp in horror at what goes on in American elections.

This is the same system gave you Justin Trudeau, so I wouldn't brag about it.

I didn't vote for him but he restored our retirement age and gave us dental care, prescription coverage and affordable childcare.

In addition each of the three times he was elected the process was competently run - no corporate donors, no gerrymandered districts, no attempted insurrections.

I disagree.

If anything Democrats are suffering from faction-fighting, which has resulted in direction looking whimsical if not reactionary.

The biggest question is did they learn their lesson from 2024. Will they focus more on economics and the middle class, or go back to identity politics. That is the direction choice they need to make.

Ms Foxx was not the establishment candidate... and it was a Democratic primary.
Not good for the candidate backed by David Hogg and AOC.
So those are the only two Democrats in the US? good to know.

I am not sure if this plan of going with fresh faces like Deja Foxx and re-tread candidates like Beto O’Rourke, Colin Allred, and Joaquin Castro is going to work.
lol

Go ahead, tell us all the times in recent Congressional elections that incumbents were successfully unseated. Cue the Jeopardy Theme.

Allred beat Sessions in 2018, and has held that House seat since then.

Castro has spent years beating the snot out of Republicans who run in his district.

Don't forget Texas Republicans have spent years disenfranchising Democratic voters. Allred did get beaten beyond any suppression margins, but let's not pretend it was a 100% fair fight.

I'd add that the alternative to the "fresh faces" is an increasingly aging cohort of elected representatives. They won't last forever.

What is the appeal of someone like O'Rourke? Again? He's a loser.
Do you REALLY need a list of elected politicians who have lost at least one race during their career?

The Republican Party just got taken over by a corrupt, narcissistic, autocratic, mendacious sex offender, and has spent years defenestrating anyone who is even remotely moderate. And it's the Democrats who are "lost," because they are... what exactly? Experiencing normal intra-party contests?

If you really want to see a political party tearing itself to shreds, wait until Trump is out of the picture.

You’re acting like this wasn’t a Democratic primary. Foxx lost to another Democratic candidate.

I didn't vote for him but he restored our retirement age and gave us dental care, prescription coverage and affordable childcare.

He didn't give you anything. He just forced other people to pay for your stuff, and forced you to pay for theirs. That’s not generosity, that’s coercion, and if that's your idea of progress, you might as well go full commie and have the society of your dreams.

It's our money.

You're supporting the orange moron who's spending $100 million to build a ballroom and a billion for a new plane.

I'd rather have better healthcare coverage but you do you.

They are in the minority in both houses of Congress.

The SCOTUS is gleefully aiding Trump in eviscerating the Constitution.

What does that have to do with "denial over election losses?" 🤨

P.S. No one is in "denial" over 2024.

But more importantly, being leaderless and rudderless as a result of different factions within the democratic party fighting over and for control of the party. They’ve failed to unite in opposition to Trump.
Uh, hello? America's political parties are rarely united, even when they have a capable leader.

Look at what's happening in Trumpworld right now. The Epstein fracas is showing all the fault lines in the Republican Party, which will all start ripping each other apart as soon as Dear Leader is out of the picture.

Don’t expect much change in the senate.
It's far too early to predict any midterm results.

In my opinion failure to find that leader and unite probably would mean the GOP remains in full control. Fighting among themselves for control of the party does nothing but help Trump and the republicans.
Or....

A lot will depend on factors such as:
- Individual candidates
- Whether Dear Leader's policies cause major inflation, recession etc
- Whether more Republicans decide not to run for office again
- Whether Elon Musk actually puts together either a 3rd party or throws money at Republican candidates
- Whether Texas' attempts to gerrymander districts blows up in their face

I.e. Democrats are in the opposition. They'll quickly settle on more or less uniform lines of attack by next summer, even if they don't have a single leader coronated by then. Whether that results in significant electoral victories, it is far too early to know.

The Democrats have a crackling new election plan, one they’ve never tried before. It’s called “Trump/Racism/Trump/Fascism/Trump/Nazism/Trump/Misogyny/Trump/Homophobic/Trump/Transphobia.”

Did I mention that their plan includes “Trump”?

Not at all !
It's so fun and easy to Factually expose the stupidity of the Left, and help them see how they have been gaslighted over and over again, and then they get mad and TRY to go off on silly tangents because they are so butt hurt !
You have in fact failed to read the room.
