Did you always vote for the same party - or did you change sometimes?

I've voted for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents depending on the era and who was running. I will say that after Democrat actions just prior to and since the 2016 election I have no intention of voting Democrat again. Not without major policy direction changes.

I've never voted for party, only candidates whose positions I agree the most with.
I voted for Angus King over Susan Collins for Governor. I don't vote for either for Senator when they are up. Both win handedly though. So, technically I haven't voted for a Democrat.

I am not a US citizen, but here in Austria I have voted for 6-8 different parties already since I have become able to vote.

The only party I have never voted so far is the far-right Neonazi Trumpist FPÖ.
I am a naturalised US citizen so have voted in a few of their elections, always for the Dems. I have also voted in Irish and British elections, usually for Labour or Green. I don’t vote for conservative parties.

I was an independent conservative earlier in my life. As the right abandoned more ethics and became more hateful, I became a Bluedog Democrat. I still lean right on a number of things...I tend to be moderate about them. And while the Democratic party can have moments of being ethically challenged, it isn't even in the same level as it is for conservatives.

Also, while I don't always agree with various DNC/liberal policies and ideas, when they talk about America...they are talking about the whole of America. The right really only talks about one part of America when they talk about America. The left also at least tries to create policies that helps as many Americans as possible (not always successfully, but at least the attempt is usually made) whereas the right uses jingoism to mask the fact that they are working for only certain Americans so that they can keep their power and money...rarely in the interest of the nation.

To paraphrase Reagan, the right left me a long time ago. However, that doesn't mean that sometimes I don't lean right on certain issues, and every now and again, I'll see a right wing politician worth noting and thinking about. The last one was Larry Hogan; I may not have agreed with him on a number of things, but it was clear to me that he was trying to work for the good of all of us in Maryland for the most part, and has a McCain-like quality when he talks about the nation. I always felt that he when runs against a Dem who is weak or I feel can't do the job, I'll give Hogan serious consideration. Also, in case you haven't figured it out...he ain't MAGA or much of a Trump fan.

While I never voted for an R, though until 2000 I have voted for others, including Ralph Nader. I assume you are talking National elections. I have voted independents, Greens in local elections, still will.

Yes, he was mistreated bigly! Trumps problems are his responsibility, but they sure would be less problems if they weren't hell bent on destroying him at any cost.
John Gotti had that same problem. ;)

I picked other and change sometimes.

Before Trump took office, I used to vote Republican like 90% of the time. Rarely would vote Democrat. Now after the orange stain took over the party, I cannot in good conscience vote for most Republicans. They are all married to Trump out of fear. My other big thing here is, I have never been a social or cultural conservative. I am still Pro-life, but only by a whisker. The current state of the Republican party is obsessed with wokeism, CRT, and attacking LGBTQI people. I call it "the culture of mean".

I do have to thank Trump for one thing: He turned me into an independent. No longer to loyal to any political party. They are all B.S. My version of Republicanism is more associated with Lincoln, Roosevelt, Hoover, Ike, Nixon, Ford, and H.W. We're talking about the more progressive Republicans rather than the "Lets deplete the federal government" and "stay on the dying hill until the last minute".

I was reminded of the Social Democrats in Germany when I read the news that Andrea Ypsilanti has left the SPD.
Once upon a time she has been an important member.

Ypsilanti was a member of the Hessian Landtag (parliament) and served as chairperson of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Hesse from March 2003 to January 2009.

I actually voted for Obama on his first term but not his second term.....but mainly I vote republican as I find the democratic policies a big deterrent to the economy and national defense.

At the top of the ticket I voted GOP for decades. Down ballot would depend.

However, since the GOP went nutty, starting with Bush Jr I have not voted GOP at the top. I was all set to vote McCain and WTF! More insanity, Sarah was put on the ticket. I had to hold my breath and vote for Obama.
Then I was set to vote for Trump, I absolutely hated Bill and Hillary, but as the election in 2016 got closer and closer I started to wonder, "what if this is not just an act? What if he really is an idiot?"
WOW! On day one he proved it was not an act and that he really was a very ****ed up person.

Never voted a Republican but have voted for Green Party and working families party.

In new zealand we get two votes. One for the individual politician in our electorate the other is a party vote. My electoral vote tends to stay the same but I do vary the party vote to give some minor party that appeals to me a boost.
