Noam Chomsky: George Bush would be in severe political trouble if there were an opposition political party in the country. Just about every day, they’re shooting themselves in the foot. The striking fact about contemporary American politics is that the Democrats are making almost no gain from this. The only gain that they’re getting is that the Republicans are losing support. Now, again, an opposition party would be making hay, but the Democrats are so close in policy to the Republicans that they can’t do anything about it. When they try to say something about Iraq, George Bush turns back to them, or Karl Rove turns back to them, and says, “How can you criticize it? You all voted for it.” And, yeah, they’re basically correct.

NO, it did not.

Some Republicans believed the liberal media about a red wave and did not feel it was necessary to make the effort to vote.

Very clever ploy of the Dems!
chase some more excuses... it seems to be befitting for you .

You should. If you think the Democrat and Republican establishments are different than each other in any way that matters, you are naive beyond reckoning.

But you were just about to break down sobbing in #17 Nice Guy. LOL. What was that all about?

Compare what the election results, combined with what the 2018 and 2020 elections indicate about Trump to what Britt Hume describes the current vote saying about Biden...

Fox News Pundit Brit Hume Admits No Republican 'Red Wave'

The Daily Beast on MSN.com|6 hours ago
As Democrats currently seem to be outperforming expectations in their House election races, Fox News commentator Brit Hume conceded late Tuesday that voters did not usher in a "red wave," as some on the right had predicted.
iu

...
Hume went on to suggest that, even if Republicans do win back the lower chamber of Congress, Democrats’ performances as a whole will be seen as a tailwind for President Joe Biden’s potential re-election campaign.

“The practical effect is [that if] Republicans get control of the House of Representatives, his legislative agenda cannot be the kind of legislative agenda he had for the last two years,” Hume said. “The political effect is…will this encourage him to run again? ‘Hey, I came out unscathed. I don’t look like the guy who dragged my party down to some terrible defeat. I am good to go.’”

Florida did its part for the good of the country, but all is lost. I am grateful to live in one of the last bastions of reason and freedom. However, the US is clearly in decline, and it is controlled by the military industrial complex, the security state and the war machine. The US is being sucked dry, and unfortunately in my lifetime we will take our place among the declined nations, a mere shadow of our former self, selfish and grasping, sitting with France, the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and Russia at the kids' table, while China takes center stage over the next half century. The neoconservatives and the power elite have ****ed us over - instead of a new american century, they worked for the Project for a New Chinese Century.

We have a few decades left, but I shed a tear for my grandchildren.
MNG, I feel for you. My guess is the billionaires are cashing out with the US and probably are interested in investing in other parts of the world in the near term. It's probably time to let the US go to shit and rebuild it from scratch anyway. Too many race problems, too many political problems, too many economic problems, and to top it off the rest of the world is moving away from a US-centric paradigm. The upcoming war with Russia will be the end of the US. I suspect the US will eventually be balkanized into 10+ little countries to keep it from ever becoming too powerful again. My hats off to the dems, they "won" the battle, but will lose everything in the end game.

LMAO, let me get this straight, after months of MAGA trash talk bashing Biden with inflation and stirring the 'woke' pot now the MAGA/Rabid Right blames 'clever' Dems with the 'liberal' media??? (Let's not see suburban women rejecting the MAGA knows best when it comes to their bodies as one of the reasons MAGA's wave turned out to be a muddy puddle)

I'd go with stupid Pubs... ✌️

OK. Since "both parties" are controlled, and I do not disagree with that, then why are you all teary eyed at the GQP loss (sort of) last evening?
You were lamenting the death of America above.
I'm teary eyed over SOME of the GOP losses. However, if a Republican was President with control of Congress, too, I would be pushing for them to lose, too. If they were doing what Joe Biden and the Democrats were doing, and they probably would be, I would be against them, too. It's just circumstantial. I am not a registered Republican and I hold generally liberal views, but the Democrats piss me off because they aren't liberal (even though they generally claim to be) an instead they've gone Leftist/Progressive.

America is dying, yes, but there used to at least be a pretense of an opposition party in this country. Now, it's just window-dressing. We can argue about pronouns and bathrooms, but both parties vote for the same budgets, and support the same wars. I find myself siding with socialists nowadays, because they're one of the only factions willing to stand up and point out the control of the Military Industrial Complex and the security state over our government and the media.

My hats off to the dems, they "won" the battle, but will lose everything in the end game.
I think that you hit the nail on the head.

By the next century (or earlier?), the political configuration of the United States of America may be totally different from today's.

As long as the currently operative conspiracy theory explains it, it's all good.

Isn't it weird how the stupid incompetent Demonrats out maneuver the virtuous intelligent GQP?

That is a given.

Our great-grandchildren will be living in a country (if it is still one country) completely different from today's.

Compared with what they will be experiencing, they will look back on 2022 America as a paradise.

War with Russia makes zero sense, other than if the US thinks it can bring Russia to heel, and if it's about sales of energy to Europe. We are succeeding on cutting off Europe from Russia, which is the economic goal for the war industry.

So Florida did NOT do anything at all except help to destroy the nation?

Or perhaps you're as naive as everyone else?

Which is it?

There is very little florida could do, or any state could to, but to oppose the current ruling elite. Vote them out. Next time, I'll be criticizing Republicans.

We had a chance to break free with Trump and similar outsiders. That was the great thing about Trump. Yes he was a dick and had his own problems, but the best thing about him was that the neoconservatives and the military-industrial-complex and the security state (but I repeat myself) hated him.
