Dallas Police arrested Oswald 1st for the murder of Officer Tippet, so thier Jurisdiction is final 1st.
They supposedly arrested him for shooting Tippet, but as soon as he got to the Police station he was charged with killing the President. How convienent!
I would love to go there someday.
At the time they took him in the movie theatre, there was not PC to arrest/charge him with Murdering the President.
So how and where did they get the authority to charge him with killing the President? Unless it had already been decided---
Actually, there were about 50 eye-witness reports of seeing smoke or hearing a gunshot coming from the grassy knoll. That's in the Warren Report.
Conspiracy's usually don't last this long without any evidence to support it and its so much in the public eye it would be impossible for it to be any other way since then it would suggest the government had to have knowledge of "who" really killed Kennedy and the people behind it and lets face the fact the United states cant keep a secret for to long .
Yes, it was odd that he wasn't in Federal custody. If any crime would put you there, presidential assassination should have done so.
Ruby liked his short lived role as the guy who wouldn't crack.
He never did.

Evidence was developed I suppose in between the shots fired and having him in custody for shooting Tippet.
Who? When? We have eyewitnesses seeing a man on the sixth floor with a rifle, witnesses to Oswald owning that rifle, and a witness who gave him a ride to work that morning and remarked at the package Oswald was carrying ('curtain rods', he was told.
Yet for all of the cameras and movie cameras at Dealey Plaza that day, there's not a single image or photo of anybody at the 'Grassy knoll'. All of the credible, eye witness reports say the shots came from above and behind the motorcade.
However, I think I'm done with this. Conspiracy theorists believe whatever the hell they want to, and nothing ever changes their minds.
Killing a President was not a Federal crime so LHO could not have been prosecuted on Federal charges. Nor had the state of Texas yet charged him- LHO was never charged with killing anyone other than Officer Tippet.

After Oswald returned from Russia – receiving surprisingly little trouble despite his defection – he became friendly with the White Russian community in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He then went to New Orleans in the summer of 1963. Numerous witnesses had testified to seeing him with former FBI agent Guy Banister or at Banister’s office at 544 Camp Street.

Who do you think killed Kennedy?
Honestly, I think Oswald did it. I used to buy in to the conspiracy theory until I moved to Dallas. I live, as a matter of fact, walking distance to the site Kennedy was shot and so I've seen it many times - seen the grassy knoll, the book depository, etc.
When you watch Oliver Stone's movie "JFK," the way the camera work is done it really looks like that window in the book depository high up and a long way off, ie it looks like it would take a real marksman to pull off the shooting. When you're actually there in person, you see that the location is perfect for what it was, that Oswald easily could have gotten off 3 accurate shots from there. The building is remarkably close. It would have been a turkey shoot.
What's crazy to me is that they allowed the motorcade to go through such a tight bend, that they allowed Kennedy to be in an open top convertible, and that they didn't block off nearby buildings like the book depository. I just have to chalk it up to being a more naive period in history, that a president hadn't been murdered since Lincoln, and to really shoddy work by the secret service on that day.
Stranger things have happened.
Yes.You saying this law was not in place in 1963 after 3 President's [sic: Do NOT use apostrophe to signify plural- USV] had already been murdered an there was an attempt on Truman.
Passed after the Kennedy assassination.18 USC § 1751 - Presidential and Presidential staff assassination, kidnapping, and assault; penalties
(a) Whoever kills
(1) any individual who is the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice President, or, if there is no Vice President, the officer next in the order of succession to the Office of the President of the United States, the Vice President-elect, or any person who is acting as President under the Constitution and laws of the United States...

'Kennedy made a lot of internal enemies when he was in office' - Jessie Ventura
And then let's look at how the murder of the president was handled - look at his car, his car was a crime scene, he was murdered in it. After they drove to Parkland Hospital to try and safe his life, yellow tape should have been put around that car, that car should have never been touched until forensic could go through with it. Monday morning at orders of new president Lyndon Johnson that car was already up in Michigan being totally refurbished. Nobody got to look at it.
