I don't know anybody who is desperate to see a Nazi salute. I do know that those who are fans of said salute, were pleased to see Elon's gesture. Was that his intenet? Probably not, but it would be easier for his explanation to be accepted if he had a more honorable history.

For those who can out parse things out, sure. However, people are reacting to specific things these people are doing. You'd have a point if Trump's first few days were uneventful, but the reactions are to what he's doing and saying with the added help of Musk and others.
